Re: Lighten Up On Snyder

I love DS, better have an owner that at least wants to win as opposed to somebody who doesn't really care about the team. You all know that he hates to lose as much as we do. That was a really good story though.

Re: Lighten Up On Snyder

Holly Cow. LOL. I honestly thought this whole blog was about Skinny Tee faining support for DS just to ....as a joke.... get someone who actually does support DS to come forth and be recognized and ....as a joke... pretend to be pointing him out as a traitor to the rest of us.

^That might not make sense sorry. Just trying to show how slow I am which I guess isn't a good thing.

So Skinny Tee, who can DS be friends with? I guess anyone in the division is off limits? So would Arizona be ok? Not trying to pick on anyone but all the owners are friendly towards each other. They all have a common goal....which is to make their team thrive and if something is working for one owner then you bet they will be talking to see if it would work for them. To the owners it's all business. Business men hang out together...especially ones in the same type of business.

Plus they all have to get a long in order to support each others issues in regards to the CAP. I mean it's not an owners union for nothing. Then theres the players union. and low and behold a REF's union. and comming to a town near you a coach's union.

Snyder's petty enough to sue little old ladies over season tickets but he's not petty enough to be focused against his rival?

I've seen Snyder do some pretty petty things, like keep Norv Turner waiting for 3+ hours outside of his office before he brought him in to fire him, so to say that he isn't petty enough to not cavort with cowboys is not a stretch.
Dude, you keep making that same non-sequitur statement and keep calling it a fact.

The truth is that you can be friends with someone and still be "focused" in a rivalry situation against them. Sometimes the friendship even enhances the sense of rivalry.

I'll bet that everyone on this board at some time or another has competed in a focused way against a friend. It happens in fantasy football every week.

By the way, as long as people are talking about what is "petty," one could say that it is pretty "petty" to criticize Snyder for the company he keeps.

I didn't realize how much Jerrah was charging for tickets down here, that's just batsh*t crazy. $700+ to watch a Cowboys game? Crazy Town.

That was the original intention...

Then it turned into some big stink about my personal feelings on Snyder vacationing with Jones. It's not that big a deal that I personally hold a grievance against the fact that Snyder and Jones are vacationing chill boys...if you don't, then great, one less burden for you...I, on the other hand, hold grievance against it.

I also hold grievance against front office moves by Snyder for the last ten years, and against his personal managment ethics against our very own Redskins players, coaches and staff.

There are many transgressions that Snyder has done so far that make me hold it against him. Going out of his way to buddy up with Jones is just one of them.

Apparently it's the most intruging one of them all from the looks of it...

The team seems to have this teetering balance b/t drafting where we still have picks and supplementing a few holes with big FAs every offseason. Silly contracts are handed out to new guys, but productive mainstays (like Sellars) have to fight for a decent extension. The up-and-coming guys I would have loved to see as head coaches here go elsewhere (Payton, Spags, etc). It's one thing when former players trash talk the organization when they leave (Pierce, LA)... it's another when one of the "core" guys like Jansen leave with bad feelings (although it definitely made business sense to let him go, I get the notion his dismissal wasn't as classy as his Redskins career was).

While DS has done everything he's believed he could to help the team win, a culture has been created to where some coordinators aren't as quick to jump at an opportunity to head coach here, some current players don't feel rewarded for their efforts and some just leave with bad tastes in their mouths. Going back to the fanbase thing, I'm not so sure Snyder is willing to sacrifice profits for a few seasons getting this thing sorted out. I hope it's not too late.
You make some very strong points. I will say though that it's hard to take much stock in what players say when they are let go. I think a lot of it is just frustration that they've been told they're not wanted anymore. But you don't hear Jansen talking about coaches came to his defense the last two seasons to keep him from being cut. You don't hear Pierce talk about how no other team even considered him in the draft and the Redskins gave him an opportunity. You don't hear Demetric Evans talk about the Redskins picking him up on waivers and then re-signing him (or that Evans said he was happy to not have to deal with the tough competition in the NFC East). You don't hear Khary Campbell explain why he wanted to be paid like a starter yet last I checked no one is even paying him to be on the roster.

He deserves every bit of the criticism and probably more. He has created this culture of mediocrity that the team has drowned in for the last 10 years.

Re: Lighten Up On Snyder

I have posted my feelings before as an outsider ..............,look DS seems like a nice person and I'm sure he has a good heart but this is not about that.People see his actions as with suing the old ladies......yes he did it twice and things of that nature and judge him.To me his problem is ...he won't hire football people(fire Vinnie)..............IE a .....GM and then backaway.you can not play fantasy football in the NFL......with the NFL.
