Redskins isn’t a racist name period. To claim it is, you are being intellectually dishonest or you are a slow mentally. It’s one or the other.

As long as the team name is still Native Americain centered and they can keep the logo, I'll be good with it.

I still get the feeling all of this could have been avoided had the Team do more to outspokenly honor Native Americans, and actually worked with NA communities.

Both Braves and Warriors sound good. A local tribe name would work with me too.

Yes, there is. "Chief" is a term that is actually used in a derogatory way by racists. "Redskin," not so much. I am 66 years old and have never heard anyone use the term 'redskin" as a racial slur. Not once. Chief? Yes, I've heard that used as a racial slur.

doubt that happens as that would probably cause more heat from those who want the name changed. Think the best you can hope for is they keep the colors. Maybe you get "warriors" but the logo would most likely be non-Native American in nature. Something military-like would be more likely. I do recall years ago when this came up, people were saying make it the "Redtails". Keep the colors, keep the wordmark and simply change "skins" to "tails" and the logo to a hawk. If they go with something Patriotic or along the lines of the capitals and nationals, then they will likely adopt a red, white, and blue theme.

I'm on the Red Tails bandwagon. Hopefully having a coach from a military family will influence this choice.

Depends how nuclear they go. When the Oilers first moved to Tennessee, they waited 2 years before changing to the Titans. Kept the color scheme, a little, but it was pretty much a re-brand. Will all depend on what the sponsors demand. FedEx, and Nike might pressure for a complete re-brand.

Re: Skins getting heat again over name issue

If as the NFL statement has stated this has been ongoing for some weeks then it just looks like the sponsors jumping on board for good publicity....... where were they previously?

Secondly, hasn't NIKE voided there contract by refusing to list/stock/name Redskins merchandise? It should be. I suppose they expect to cash in on the new merchandise sales, I would tell them to go *$%$ them selves and sign a deal with UnderArmor or Addidas.

I expect and uptick in current merchandise sales, get it while you can

Nike is such a standup company, they have ethic minorities making their shoes while imprison in concentration camps.

All these woke idiots saying change the name while they support slave labor buying their kids Nike shoes.

Haven't bought anything Nike in 10 years probably, and never will again. This was already in effect before this product pull.

Going online now and buying a couple more Redskins shirts. Want to have some historical reserves.
