That said, I feel like this is a really nice problem to have because when I watch Maye I feel like I'm watching Justin Herbert. What separates Daniels from Maye for me is Maye sails some easy passes sometimes. I didn't see Daniels do that very much. And then the threat with the legs I've already mentioned. But if we ended up with either one I think we're looking at a franchise guy. I think there are 3 franchise level QBs in this draft and we pick 2nd. Finally, we're in the right place at the right time. Haven't been able to say that about QBs and the draft at any point in my adult life.

Yeah I agree 100%. Some say Maye is like Josh Allen but I tend to lean towards the Herbo comparison too. Very simialt players, Maye is prob a bit more mobile than Herbert. Overall I'm fine with either but still prefer JD

Re: QB Prospects Thread
I remain comfortably seated on the JD bus. I'm not looking for a good QB or a safe pick. I'm looking to get someone who has the talent and work ethic to be truly great. I think I see that in JD.
Surely, I could be wrong but past a certain point I don't think it's wise to tie up oneself and become indecisive by trying to pick the fly shit out of the pepper. The coaches will help him correct any minor flaws. In JD I see just what I want in a modern day NFL QB and I'm hoping the Commanders brass drafts him. |

Re: QB Prospects Thread
From a purely practical perspective Daniels makes sense. If he's an equivalent to Lamar Jackson, then he at least offers that added dimension of a QB that can gain rushing yards when pass plays break down or on designed plays that leverage his running ability without unnecessarily risking him. I'm not a LJ fan because he's not a great passer, but you can't say he's not a playmaker. If Daniels can be a better passer than LJ, then maybe you have a franchise QB. At worst he could be the guy that makes us competitive until a future franchise QB is available again.

Maye is more like Herbert, longer release but cannon arm. Its a toss up but I'm still hoping JD is the pick

Re: QB Prospects Thread
What QB do you want? What QB do you think we end up with:
1. Daniels 2. McCarthy

I don’t know the answer too who we should or shouldn’t draft, but damn if there isn’t a good group of talented guys sitting there. We got some quality options. My best guess is outside of Caleb…it’s between Daniels or Penix. I think for Peters it’s between JJ and Daniels.
