He needs to hit the weight room and shave that beard. He looks like a total bro. When I think of the stereotypical frat bro, I think of someone that looks exactly like Howell.

Sam and EB have

Terry McLaurin
Jahan Dotson
Curtis Samuel
Brian Robinson
Antonio Gibson
Chris Rodriguez

We have weapons. I am excited how they can craft a gameplan for all of them

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Me too, I think EB is the biggest offseason transaction outside Snyder being gone.

Who EB chooses from the TE group to get involved in the offense. I’d watch Turner or Rogers.

I see a zone running game with power backs, an advance screen game, and more big play opportunities with our receivers

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

The off season is filled w/ Kool Aid and optimism. EB does not have Mahomes. He has a QB who was drafted in the 5th round that Ron didn't even want to start in the last game until Taylor told him to.

My concern is do we have someone to even develop Sam? Is the line good enough to protect him? How fast can he learn this new offense and will he gel w/ EB? Will EB be able to run an offense?

As usual there are just too many question marks around the QB, the o-line, the head coach and the coordinator. Just inside the division we have the worst QB and probably the worst head coach, although I don't think highly of dough boy in Dallas.

Probably looking at 6 wins on the low side and 9 at the very highest.

I think EB recognizes it’s not an easy journey with an unproven QB, but the free agent moves on the Oline and drafting of a RB while cutting another (JD)…the running game will be leaned on. Also, look for a balling screen game :Short, easy throws, misdirection, shovel passes….it’s gonna be fun to watch.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

I love how some of us are obsessed with the fact that Howell was drafted in the 5th round and ignore the fact that the NFL community had 2nd/3rd round grade on him.

What matters more though? An alleged draft grade or the reality of where he was picked?

Of course how he plays will be the ultimate deciding factor. But if you're looking at the history of 5th rd QBs typically they don't turn into franchise QBs.

I'm all for giving him a shot, I just won't be surprised to see JB at some point, I don't see SH having a very long leash.

agree, its why i wish we had gotten a QB in the draft hooker maybe , just another person to battle. On the board we keep saying keep drafting QBs until you find one.

that position is so frustrating.

That's fair question.. Although Keim did say that we would have drafted Howell in the 2nd/3rd round pick if we hadn't traded for Wentz. Would you have felt differently if we did draft him in the 2nd round?

Edit: just like a few others said, Howell is our best option given our cards so let's just roll with him and see where he takes us.

I'm all for giving him a shot.

But it's worth noting the rest of the league passed him over multiple times as well.

I hope he proves all the doubters wrong.

He lost a lot of his surrounding talent his junior year at UNC, couple that with his height and throw in how weak everyone looked at the quarterback class as a whole. You get a once sure fire top 10 pick falling into the fifth round. He may not pan out, but I put absolutely zero stock in the fact that he fell in the draft. It was 100 percent due to things out if his control. If he had come out the year before he would have been a first rounder. We were fortunate to get him in the fifth round.
