One of the OT's, Harrison or more picks. Only approach that makes sense to me.
I'm honestly tired of the whole "trade down for more picks" approach. If we don't trade up for a QB, we will likely be in a position to draft a top tackle or WR. Under this scenarios, we will still have two second round and two third round picks. That's plenty of draft picks to address holes in this team, while taking an elite top 5 draft pick.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread

Best thing this team could have done was trade CY and MS.

Sweat has been ok but CY has doke jack shit in SF with the 2nd best pass rusher in the league on the other side. I can’t believe Ron took him over Tua or Herbert…

He took him because Haskins ; that is what I am worried about with SH , I hope we don’t pass on a franchise QB thinking SH is the answer

Pretty tough catch 22. At the current rate I don't care who you draft or put back there, they would have a very small chance at success. Fix the line and offensive philosophy and we would be talking about a higher chance for winning.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread

I'm not taking a wr. No way. I'm taking guys that can block, protect or rush the passer. I'm trading every single guy on this team that has a big contract or value. Payne, Allen, Samuel and Terry..bye. Love you guys but we gotta part ways. Give me as many draft picks as I can get. I'm going Jimmy Johnson style when he took over the Cowboys. Anyone w/ any value is getting traded.

Bengals said the same and took Chase, he's now a top 3 WR and makes huge plays every week. It's easier to find solid lineman than a WR1. Trent Williams isn't in this draft. We def need LT and RT bad though

That is easy to say in retrospect but There are 3 Olineman that have the potential to be Trent like tackles.

If we do not vastly improve the line it simply doesn’t matter who is throwing or catching the ball. Because no tandem can do it in two seconds. I love Harrison man but without pass pro it just doesn’t matter.

you are assuming whom ever is drafting for us is going to be really good at it

i rather give someone like RR have a top 5 pic that hopefully doesn't bust over him trying to find diamonds in the rough with multiply lower round pics

it all starts with harris getting a good GM

the whole trade down has become so cliché i am tried of hearing it

Trent Brown RT - NE
Jonah Willaims LT - CIN

I'd try and get both of them at decent salary

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread

Sounds like with our first pic we could go BPA or QB and still work on the O line through out the remainder of the draft

How does this offensive line class stack up to the past few years?

Kiper: There is legit All-Pro talent at the top of Round 1, and there's enough to depth to find rookie starters on Day 2. It's a really solid group, though it might not reach the eight first-round linemen we saw in 2022 (there were five in 2023). Left tackles Olumuyiwa Fashanu (Penn State) and Joe Alt (Notre Dame) could be top-10 picks. Taliese Fuaga (Oregon State) and Amarius Mims (Georgia) are right tackles with high upside. I also see Troy Fautanu (Washington) as an elite guard prospect. And that's just five of the very best of the class; if I listed all the guys I liked you'd probably stop reading.
