I mean I guess that means the Vikings spot at #3, which seems insanely high to get RT. But if that's the case then maybe the Redskins feel they need to make this move. The danger of course is in getting fooled by a bluff. As for the Eskin rumors...he's an ass. But that's beside the point, that's not quite what I've heard (that's closer to what I'd heard to get Luck at 1) but it's certainly feasible. Been out all day, but from what I've heard some more reports of Orakpo being part of a potential deal are starting to come out. Heard we spent a lot of time with Kirk Cousins today as well. Anyone know if he ran today? If so, what was his 40?

I wouldnt think it would be Miami, Seattle makes a ton of sense to want to do that.

Makes sense IMO for the SKINS to make an offer now, the closer we get to FA & the draft it enables us to take picks back. Offer the world now knowing they won't do it, then as teams sign FA QB's the demand for the #2 pick goes down you HOPE.

Re: Yet Another QB Rumors Thread (Volume 9)
Can't shake the feeling that it is still way too early to be determining trade price/value. Free agency changes everything. If the Browns sign Flynn, Dolphins get Manning and Seahawks sign a Campbell or Orton then the compeitive price drops to a 1st and 4th plus next year's #1, same as for Manning. Eskin is pretty well dialed into the Eagles but he's far from a Redskins insider so I wouldn't give a whole lot of stock into his price.
I think Shanahan/Allen are smart enough to know that they have to do something to bring a dynamic playmaker to DC for a multitude of reasons. That being the case, they also know that they can't trade an entire draft for him. They will do the right thing regarding RGIII. This isn't the old Snyderatto Redskins who would have given up three first round picks plus Orakpo and Helu. Patience, as hard as it is, is our best asset.

Re: Yet Another QB Rumors Thread (Volume 9)
Just want to let you all know (for those that 'heard' we're really the only team willing to trade up for RG3) Rg3 said that he's already spoken with us, Cleveland, Minnesota, Tampa (?), Miami, Buffalo, San Fran, Jacksonville (?), Kansas City, Philly, to name a few...Sure everyone interviews a lot of people, but damn..thats a lot.

Re: Yet Another QB Rumors Thread (Volume 9)
Im ok with that trade... If we get a quality WR in Free Agency like VJax or Colston. As well as a quality Vetran lineman and a corner.
Redskins with Cap room= Dangerous Danny

Re: Yet Another QB Rumors Thread (Volume 9)
That may be true, but does it equal Dangerous Bruce and Mike because that is who is calling the shots not the owner.

Re: Yet Another QB Rumors Thread (Volume 9)
Free Agency will start soon and that is why there is all of this negotiating and price checking on draft trade scenarios. Teams have to decide what needs they will fill through FA and what they will try and fill in the Draft. With the potential of a good FA QB class, and only two great ones in the draft, teams like the Redskins really want to weigh all options before jumping to far into FA.
I would not believe any rumor, handshake or not. The teams that are interested in Luck and RGIII are all talking to Colts and Rams testing the waters of it would cost to move up. That is all. I would not be surprised if Rams and Redskins have talk through a trade scenario or two or three and even might come to agreement on terms. That does not mean it will happen. While it is exciting to have twitter and hear the Redskins name in the thick of it. The Colts and Rams will most likely wait until seconds before the time deadline to place the pick in the draft, in order to maximize the value of any trade. The hope for the Rams is a Qb desperate team like us will offer more than market value. It will be a waiting game. At least our FO is doing their job and getting all of the information they need to choose a FA plan. FA is first. Last edited by Defensewins; 02-26-2012 at 03:10 PM. |
