Re: Where will McNabb land?

Sure he's saying he wants to say here, he's just saying the right things, but I think his actions speak loud and clear that he won't be back. And because of that if he showed up for the Skins workouts I think it would only make things awkward for himself and the team.

No one would blame him if he was just like "I think it's time to move on", but his insistence that he'd be willing to stay, only to not work out with the team (despite being invited and knowing about it), and then going to work out with the team that traded him in the first place, just rubs me the wrong way, just like it rubbed me the wrong way when he was working out with the Cardinals while we were having workouts here.

I know he doesn't owe the team anything, but still. It's bothersome, and a bit two faced.
If I recall right, he did invite some Redskins to come work out with him in Arizona, which is really all he did in Philly. He worked out with a handful of teammates since he was in town for a charity event anyway. These weren't 7 on 7s, they weren't doing any situational drills or anything like that.

I don't have an issue with this. He never worked out with the Cards, he worked out with OUR guys IN ARIZONA.

This time, he stopped in to play catch with some former teammates after a charity event in the own...I don't see a problem.

Just interviewed McNabb. In town for charity event, decided to come by to workout.

Re: Where will McNabb land?

Who cares.. In about 3.5 weeks he will be a former Redskin and we won't have to worry about him anymore. Not to be cold but he came, didn't do much, he's gone. I think it's easy to kill the Shanahans for the benching/result of his tenure but if you go back and watch the games (as I have recently) he was awful fundamentally and made some poor decisions. I won't be surprised if he's better next season (on a better team) but I'm not expecting a resurgence of Super 5.

I don't understand why we drafted offensive play makers when our anemic offense last year was all McNabb's fault.

Actually......we were looking to draft some infielders to scoop his....best work out of the dirt. Alas, we had to settle for Football guys.....

There's no better equation when trying to compare one year here in DC with 11 yrs. spent in a city with the team that drafted you. Bonds and friendships develop that can never be broken. To McNabb the Eagles are extended family regardless of how his tenure there ended.

I don't get the desire for the media to create something out of nothing. Sure McNabb could have played better here, but he should have never been in here in the first place. This is the reason why I cannot hate the guy, I hate the fact that he was brought here through a trade that cost us picks. McNabb needs to go to a place where everything is in place, a similar situation to Favre's first year in Minny.

Re: Where will McNabb land?

Why would Minnesota want him though?

I mean...let's think about this here. If McNabb goes to Minnesota, he's going to want to start, and they're going to have to pay him starter money. He won't get the same huge contract he had here, but if he signs there, it's going to be sizable, and it's going to be a long term deal. It's going to be that or they won't get him. Period.

They just drafted Christian Ponder at number 12, and even though he's not a top ten pick, you still have to pay him first round money. So at that point, you're going to have to sign two quarterbacks to big, multi-million dollar contracts.

Oh yeah, and you have to sign Sidney Rice back. That Vikings offense struggles when Rice wasn't there. As good as Adrian Peterson and Percy Harvin are, they benefitted greatly from having Sidney Rice out there to take some pressure off. Sidney wants elite receiver money. Multiple years, lots of money, or he's going to walk.

Also, there's Ray Edwards. Have to resign him.

Oh yeah, and they're about to spend $400 million dollars on a brand new stadium. And they're still going to be feeling the heat from paying Favre last year. And I'm pretty sure AP will become an unrestricted free agent next year if what we're hearing about the CBA next year is true.

That's a whole lot of money that you have to spend, and if they don't spend it, then Minnesota may not be the team that "has all the pieces in place" to make a run. And I don't think, at this point, they should concerned with "making a run". Their team is getting older. They need to replenish some positions with younger guys.

In the face of all that, I'd just start the rookie, find a cheap, veteran back-up, and leaving the McNabb situation on the table.

Re: Where will McNabb land?

I think the Titans actually may make more sense to McNabb than Minny right now. Maybe Seattle...probably Arizona...although Arizona is in the Kolb Sweepstakes. I guess whoever loses out on Kolb may get McNabb. But Orton may also be available, so who knows. I just hope there is a market for McNabb and we can recoup something from this disaster of a trade.
