Jordan did. Ricky Williams left. Didnt Deion "retire" from us- just to get out of contract and play resumed with the Ravens?

What did Jordan have left to prove when he retired? Ricky was a burnout when he walked away. If palmer would really retire with so much left to prove in his career then he's just not the type of player anymore that i would want to trade for. I don't know how the GM's around the league feel about it but that "I will Retire" ploy players use really leaves a bad taste in my mouth about the player.

True, but Palmer is already financially secure. He does not really need the money.

Report: Carson Palmer says he'll never play for Cincinnati Bengals again - ESPN

Palmer seems pretty determined, could get interesting. I wonder if the Bengles are scouting QBs at the no. 4 pick?

I think Palmer is dead serious. Sounds like the losing and Paul Brown's terrible orgainzation has worn thin on Palmer. But he has to realize that he's part of the problem.

Vet min plus incentives. Done.

Seriously, he's obviously not worth it for us.
1) They'd probably want to trade him, and we DEFINITELY don't want to dump more draft picks on old aging QB's.
2) He probably wouldn't want to come here the way we've treated McNabb, lack of consistent offense and wide receivers.
3) Not sure he's much of an upgrade from McNabb, Grossman and Locker who we're going to draft at #10.

Don't even think about it folks, he would be a terrible fit in this offense.

No-no-no, when Ricky left, he was at the top of his game, he could run/block/catch and had speed/size.

Palmer has been paid a hefty during his tenure in the NFL. Maybe after all the years of Ocho's drama, Marvin Lewis' inability to get the team to the SB, and all the blunders/arrest/ non future dramas that club has been through he is choosing his health at a chance of using leverage. I dont knock him at all if he wants better for himself. In fact, if we switched QB's it would be a win-win.

I don't know why the Bengals wouldn't take this chance to rebuild and start over. Between Palmer and maybe Chad, they could get a few picks to rebuild their team.

It has to be Mike Browns ego. The guy would rather get nothing and teach everyone a lesson about who's boss then try and get draft picks while battling a lost cause. Not to different from Snyders stupid Media war.

X2. Brown is a 100% complete idiot. He was offered 2 first round draft choices for a past his prime Chad Johnson and turned it down. Someone needs to sit him down and tell him to step aside. Cinn. has good players and I'd say they're in better shape than we are. He could probably get a lot for Palmer if he'd listen to offers. But his ego is too damn big.
