wtf is the deal w/ cutler

ok i know cutler is/was a decent qb in denver, but wtf is the deal with (almost)EVERYONE thinking he is a great qb? granted he has put up some good numbers but wtf everyone makes excuses for this guy i don't get it, i just watched sports center and they claim that 3 of the int's in the san fran game were not his fault(he threw 5), i'm sorry i guess i really don't see what everyone else does, i see this guy as a mediocre qb and nothing more seriously wtf has he done to get so much praise

Get drafted in the first round.

Other than that I don't know why there is a fuss about him. I'm thankful we didn't give up what Chicago did to get him.

He's a POS QB is what is wrong with him. There is no f'ing excuse for throwing 5 picks against the worst passing defense in the league...and to think people think this fool is better QB than JC.

Kurt Warner threw 5 interceptions two weeks ago and threw for 5 TDs last week.

Guys like Warner, Favre and Cutler play to win games. They try to make the difficult throws instead of dumping off to a RB in the flat.

Cutler looked like crap last night but at the same time he can get hot and beat any team.
I will take him over JC everyday of the week and twice on Sundays.

Actually a couple of times last night, if Cutler had thrown some passes away or check down, he would have avoided some of those interceptions. Nice cliche, but QBs also have to be smart and Cutler is playing terrible ball.

I wouldn't take him or Campbell at this point. However, I would want a QB that takes care of the ball and makes smart decisions, we know JC is not that, but Cutler isn't either.

Well said.

I'm always amazed when people say they could live with someone throwing picks as long as they are throwing TDs or not checking the ball down. A good QB knows when to take chances and when to check it down. Cutler is not playing smart football.

I think it's easy for people to say they would take Cutler, but I really think those same people would be up in arms and ready to run him out of town if we had him and his 17 INTs right now. He's hurting the Bears more than he's helping them. He's on pace to throw 30 picks. That's insane.

Agreed, plus look at his wr's NOT one of them is close to what we have. Teams know all he has is Olsen and they lock onto him anytime he gets inside the 20. Hell his best wr is a converted return man. Im sure he would take our wr's in a heartbeat over those scrubs he has now. Plus SF was on him most of the night.

Re: wtf is the deal w/ cutler

He's Jeff George 2.0.. Tools that will make you drool but his talent and decision making fall well short of the level of his bravado. I think he's always going to be a guy who looks like he's about to turn the corner and then pull out a stinker like this. Like the old cliche, he's good enough to keep both teams in the game.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

My thoughts exactly as I watched the game last night. He's not a bad teamate like George was, but at the same time watch this guy in interviews, if you didn't know who he was you'd think he was a defendant that's trying poorly to lie about a crime he committed.

As for espn saying 3 of the picks "weren't his fault" I just hope they're not counting the one he threw near the goal line to the nose tackle. His reciever was so covered yet the nose guard got to the ball before the dbs.

I know he's talented; great arm strength & athleticism, but it appears he's got a lot of growing up to do to be a winning qb.

That's exactly what I was thinking. He is Jeff George 2.0, on some days he's brilliant, on most days indecision. redzone inefficiency and interceptions seems to get the better of him.

Pretty much sums up my opinion on Cutler. The guy handled the Matt Cassel trade scenario with total immaturity. I'm glad that we didn't shell out future first rounders for this guy.

Arrogant bastard who seriously thought he was better than Elway. He started believing what everyone was telling him and probably slacked off ie Tony Romo. He is young and talented a really bad year could help him, he could re commit himself.

Yep, Cutler is good for sure but probably overrated too. I think he started believing his own press.

Can you imagine what the guy would have looked like behind our offensive line? Yikes!
