SS I agree it didn't do it for me. The problem with "scary" PG-13 movies is that too many people that go are people who have not watched "scary" R movies. So they basically don't know scary. Some old bag in front of me during Cloverfield was going so crazy I thought she was going to drop. |

Even before all that though it was unsteady...and why did the battery never die?

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
I haven't seen the movie yet.. I heard a lot of people got all pukey cause of the shaky camera though and that some people had to walk out of the movie cause they were getting too nauseous.

They say there might be a sequel from another camera in a different part of the city. I don't know what i think about that. |

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
I've heard mixed reviews on Cloverfield. I'd still like to see if for myself.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
I saw Mr. Woodcock today, I thought it was pretty decent but kinda predictable. Overall though it wasn't that bad, but it wasn't that great.
Yesterday I went to the theaters and saw Meet the Spartans, honestly that is the biggest piece of crap I have ever wasted 10 bucks on. I mean, not before in my life have I ever seen a movie that I thought sucked as bad as that. They basically took 300 and made it a 90 minute long gay joke with little shitty jokes dispersed randomly in it. The only parts that I thought were a littlet funny were shown in the commercials, which is the entire reason I wanted to see it in the first place despite the fact that the commercial for it wasn't entirely appealing. Either way the next time I think about going to see a spoof movie in theaters, I'm going to think back to yesterday and tell myself never again. There will never be a spoof movie coming out that I won't be willing to wait for it to make it's inevitable appearance on HBO or one of those channels in a few months.

Dmek, I saw Saw 4 in theaters and I really enjoyed it, I liked Saw 3 better but I think Saw 3 was the best one, Saw 4 was probably 2nd though.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
I just rented and watched the last Harry Potter movie, Bourne Ultimatum and Munich. All three were very good, I thought, especially Munich.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
My wife and I watched "Epic Movie" the other day, and it was atrocious. So I definitely will wait on "Meet The Spartans".
We watched "Shooter" yesterday, and I thought it was pretty good.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
I saw "No Country For Old Men" last week.
I went there with high hopes with all of the awards it's been nominated for. But I guess my expectations were too high. There was pretty good tension in the first 75% of the film, then it just went nowhere. For those that have seen it, please explain Tommy Lee Jones' monologue at the very end. I was completely lost with what he was trying to say. I'm a fan of the Coen brothers too. I really don't get all the acclaim it's been getting. Just didn't do anything for me. Two stars out of four. |

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
I saw Breach saturday night on HBO, I thought it was just about one of the best movies I've seen recently, I like the way it went even though some of the stuff was made up just to add to the value of the film.
