Just said this in the week 4 thread. It is at the point now where I am wondering how many second stringers there are out there that are better than Crapkins. He has the pedigree from OSU. Has the strong arm. Looks physically gifted. But he is fools gold.

I think he's more accurate than Haskins but overall arm talent isn't close.

No idea what people mean when they complement Haskins arm talent. If you can't throw the football where it's supposed to go you don't have arm talent.

Agree. Jeff George is another WFT QB who had lots of arm talent.

Are you old enough to remember Jay Schroeder? He had elite arm talent, had great wr's and wasn't accurate enough to keep the job.

Point is accuracy is much more important than arm talent. Rypien threw some balls I have yet to see DH make.

Per JP Finaly this morning:

Sources tell me that Ron Rivera and some Washington Football coaches met with Dwayne Haskins this week to make clear he understands he needs to play better or things could soon change

I think RR would have never drafted him. I be shocked if DH was here in 2021 in any significant role.

wow, thats somewhat surprising. I figured RR wouldnt move on from Haskins if he shows that he is working on what the coaches want him to work on.

I imagine the biggest thing is his footwork. They must be frustrating to a coach.

I really wish we knew whether Haskins was not seeing the field on not seeing open guys.

Well ... we know what the N F L stands for.

Main issues with George and Schroeder though were they were both douchebags who commanded zero respect from their teammates.

George was a total douchebag. I remember being shocked when the Cowboys (I think it was Leon Lett) dragged George around TX Stadium and not a single WFT lineman came to his rescue. That told me all I needed to know about what his teammates thought of him.

These days being a douche bag commands all sorts of respect. They were just ahead of their time...,

I think it's good to keep in mind that Urban Meyer told Rivera that Dwayne needs to be pushed, needs to be challenged, and that he responds well to that.

I think that's what Ron is doing here. I don't think he's ready to bail after 3 starts for him.

Haskins loves a challenge

I don't read Ron Rivera as the kind of coach and man to put a player on notice and then not follow through if the player doesn't respond to the challenge. Unlike Urban Meyer, Rivera may not want a QB that needs to be pushed. He may want one who is self-motivated. That's why it would not surprise me if Dwayne Haskins doesn't keep his starting job beyond the Ravens game.

Agreed. Everyone is forgetting that Rivera started Allen pretty much the whole year last year. Also, he traded a draft pick for him. Oh yeah, Allen may have some talent too. Haskins needs to play much better against Baltimore.
