We can't get rid of Ramsey during the season. We need a capable backup.

Re: Jets In The Market For Qb! (MEGA MERGE)

It's kind of ironic that all of a sudden a QB who hold's the ball to long, throws to many INT's, has glue on the bottom of his cleets, can't beat out a QB who has 2 100 yd passing games in his last seven games, is now a capable backup, you mean to tell me a top flight rookie like Campbell can't back up a QB of Brunell's capabilities? We all know Gibbs really likes Bryson Spinner, he has spoke very well of him in the pre-season, it's funny how valuable Ramsey is all of a sudden, I really don't understand why? Didn't any of you see that Giant game last year he threw 3 INT's, we can't afford to keep a player around who did something like that, why wouldn't we want to get whatever we can for him? 2,3,4, whatever, it's better than nothing, it's not like his value is going to go up sitting on the bench, it wont be higher in the off season, if theres any chance of getting any value for Ramsey it's right now, the Jets are desperate, it's not like Gibbs will overestimate his talent, unless you want to look at Rod Gardner as an example, but I think that should be thrown out as just one of those things and shouldn't really count now.

I don't understand the reasoning? Gibbs wont let the guy sniff the field because he stinks, yet he wont trade him because he doesn't stink, I would think it would be addition by subtraction, we would be better without him, and the Jet's would be worse with him.

What is the fascination with Ramsey, didn't anyone watch him play for 19 minutes against the Bears, that's all we needed to see to know this guy doesn't belong in the NFL!

Re: Jets In The Market For Qb! (MEGA MERGE)

This might come to a shock to some of us but we may be in the playoff hunt soon, we have a chance, we can be 3-0 by sunday and then have to go 6-7 the rest of the year to have a good shot. Brunell has to go another 14 straight games(hopefully not only 14) and the chance that old bag gets injured is not low, if he does get hurt at our mid point where we might even have 6 games we can't throw away the season just because he is out 6 weeks, Ramsey can come back in and lead then team to 3-4 wins the rest of the season.

I would only get rid of Ramsey for a first rounder, that is unlikly to happen and if reports say the most that we get for him is a 4th then he is gonna sit on the bench and wait.

I seem to remember stating that I think Ramsey is good enough to start with any team, including the Redskins, but the fact is - being able to start and being a leader are two different things. So, it's quite reasonable to say that Ramsey is an extremely capable backup.

Offiss,

I know you support Joe Gibbs and his decision to start Brunell over Ramsey and I don't mean to get into that debate. But, if you trust Gibbs, what do you have say about Gibbss apparent unwillingness to even entertain a trade with the Jets for Ramsey?

If Campbell is such a quality backup quarterback, why wouldn't Gibbs love to trade Ramsey? Do you now doubt Gibbs?

Re: Jets In The Market For Qb! (MEGA MERGE)

Anyone know enough about the Jets GM/coach situation to say wether they are on the "hot seat"?

I only ask because if the GM or coach feel they must win this year or lose their jobs, what they will pay for a proven starter is much higher. If the GM can afford to lose badly this season he might put himself in a possition to draft high for a rookie QB who can start or make an offseason trade. However if the Jets feel this is their last shot or be fired they may make an offer we can't refuse.

Personally I think the Skins shouldn't take anything less than a 1st rounder or better, because Brunell has a history of injury. Remember how much you pay for anything is based on supply and demand. While some belive PR isn't worth more then a 3rd or 4th round pick, perhaps the JETS will give up much more for him.

Did Gibbs or the Skins FO say they would not even hear an offer from the Jets?

LOL...Ramseyfan, judging by Offiss' other posts, I think he might have been a little facetious when he had posted his last statement.

Blasphemour! How can you in good conscience doubt a man with 3 rings? Gibbs is as perfect today as he was 12 years ago, don't try to tell me that he's lost a little off the fast ball just because he was away from the game for 12 years the man is a genious.

Why wont he trade Ramsey you ask? It is not for us to reason why when it comes to Gibbs, only that the reason is unbenounced to us, our finite minds weren't designed to understand a Gibbs offense, or his talent evaluation methods, I find it imbisilic in nature to even attempt such thought, Gibbs plan will be revealed when the time is right, only then when he feels we are prepared to digest all his offensive game planning will he allow us understanding.

As for Campbell we only gave up next years draft for this kid, it's not like we are mortgaging the future on a project, now if we gave up let's say all our draft picks over the coarse of the next 3 years I may be inclined to agree with you, but that's just not the case, giving up next years draft for a projected second rd. talent is sheer genious if the kid gets on the field by 2007, again another brillant move on Gibbs part.

So in part Ramseyfan let me say this, until you are prepared to be a TRUE fan of my team, and support Gibbs in every decision, and stop being a fan of Ramsey, and start being a redskin fan, I am banning you from further banter with myself, I find it childish, and beneath me at best! :cheeky-sm

Gibbsfan, now a little subtle change in your screen name can go a long way in helping you understand the way's of GIBBS, remember admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery, try not to be to hard on yourself none of us are NFL coaches, and none of us have SB rings, we can't be expected to know anything about football, so just relax and roll with it baby! I am!

Well I guess it might be a moot point as the Jets signed Vinnie again.

If Brunnel hurt Ramsey next best qb.
