Re: 2012 Presidential Election (free for all edition)
ditto with Bain/Romney.....but I don't think all the shoes have dropped yet with the green energy issues. There are many ongoing gov't investigations, Solyndra is just one.

Apples and oranges comparing Bain to Solyndra. But we shall see. More shoes to drop on Bain and Romney knows it.

Not sure how this hasn't hit here yet, but this is hilarious.
McCain: Palin was 'better candidate' than Romney - POLITICO.com Carville: Romney losing the fight over Bain - CBS News Palin a better candidate than Romney?...lol Ouch. Also, this is McCain's notes and profile on Romney when he was choosing running mates back in 2008. Hilarious stuff and will keep you laughing for a while. Re: 2012 Presidential Election (free for all edition)
^ The dude is a community organizer and what he was doing and saying in Roanoke was just good old fashioned community organizing. You dont get your average joe rallied up by telling him someone is more successful than you because of their drive or their hard work. You get them involved by pitting their circumstance against another’s.
You tell them it’s the patrons of a restaurant, the consumers of a good, or the workers of a factory that allow a business to prosper. It’s the roads we all pay for, the public we educate. That it’s not just one person's pursuit of a dream that makes him successful, it’s the people of THIS community that made him successful. Its you, whos responsible for his wealth. Its OUR success. Its your right to share in it. Now go vote for me. This is Obama doing what hes soooo good at. The dudes smart, decent looking, calm, and can speak and respond to questions so articulately its amazing. Hes so skillful. The only problem is that America in a broad sense isnt really ready for that kind of tone, it goes against what has and continues to bring most immigrants here. But telling people their special, its not their fault, its just chance that seperates us, participation is winning, and so on is a lot easier of a sell than trying to get people to hold themselves accountable. This is something that crosses socioeconomic backgrounds too. Be it our first Black President Obama from Hawaii: "If you got a business you didnt build that. Somebody else made that happen" A middle class white kid from Scranton Penn: “Every single great idea that has marked the 21st century, the 20th century and the 19th century has required government vision and government incentive” Or a displaced Cherokee from Oklahoma: "There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody."

Re: 2012 Presidential Election (free for all edition)
I read this yesterday and thought it was pretty interesting:
Why Obama’s Transcripts Matter - By Greg Pollowitz - Media Blog - National Review Online I dont care about Obama's transcripts any more than Romney's tax returns. I really dont see what the big deal is or why people want to see Romney's last taxes soooooo badly. But i think he needs to end the whole thing by definitively stating he's not showing any more of his financial naked self. And say thats it, lets talk about the issues. It may bring some heat initially but it wont be a huge thing come the election. Keeping the issue going is making it worse. I posted the above link because it was a pretty simular thing, albiet less reported and scrutinized. I dont think Romeny should say ill release my taxes if he releases his transcripts, because that sounds childish. But maybe in a joking manor say something like” "We all enjoy some privacy. Obama didnt release his college transcripts when America hired him, im not going to release my tax returns just to be manipulated and graded by others. My tax returns and Obama’s transcripts have nothing to do with our policies. I tell you what, if Obama releases his transcripts, ill release my tax returns, but neither of us have anything to hide, we just want to retain a sense of privacy"

Re: 2012 Presidential Election (free for all edition)
Mlmpert,
It's a ridiculous comparison for so many reasons. Of what possible relevance are the grades that Barack Obama got at Occidental, Columbia, or Harvard Law School to judging his time in office and whether he deserves to be re-elected? What would it reveal about his presidency that we don't already know? There's nothing relevant that impacts policy or are on voters minds. The only possible reason is to embarrass the candidate. That's it. It's also worth noting, never before has a sitting U.S. president or candidate for president released his college transcripts. Not one. Not ever. He's been president for four years, move on. Romney's taxes, however, are a different matter. Whether he releases them or not won't, I say let the public judge. In my opinion the public deserves to see more than two years of taxes from the man applying for Commander-in-Chief. |
