I think you're mistaking yourself for Doug Williams.

And, we are not ACTIVELY looking for partners, we are passively listening to offers. The difference is like active radar in subs versus passive radar. Active radar means you are initiating the pings, you are putting out the noise to see what is reflected back to you. Passive radar means you are quiet, and listen to the noises in the water around you to see if something of interest is near you. Same thing with AH. Before April 1st we were active, to see if we could get someone else to take the 21 million dollar payout. Shockingly, there were no takers, so now that we have paid it, we are in a passive mode. Sure everyone knows that he could be had, but we are not wheeling and dealing him, but that wouldn't stop us from reacting if the right offer came along. Remember that now his playing contract is basically 3 years for 16million. Lots of teams would take that contract, but not give up draft picks that we want in exchange. And at that remaining contract he remains an appealing player for our roster as well. |

Albert is so far down the list of our problems when it comes to winning football games it is comical. It is real annoying to hear Albert takes all the hatred of fans because he signed a 4 year 48 million dollar contract. We went after him, he didn't beg to come here. He signed up to be a 4-3 DT and never wanted to play in a 3-4. He made that clear. So Al should get some benefit of the doubt. I still think he should have come to the offseason workouts to support the new coach but this whole mess isn't all of Albert's fault. And btw, he is still probably the best player on our team. |

CRedskinsRule,
I think you meant SONAR. Radar is for finding things in the air. Sonar is for things in the water. That aside, good point. Ken, Former Submariner |

Re: Haynesworth might learn a few things about Shanahan from Plummer
If I was Haynesworth and I was determined to work out with my guy I would at least show up for the voluntary minicamp and also stop by to learn the defense a day or two a week.

Re: Haynesworth might learn a few things about Shanahan from Plummer
It looks like Haynesworth is determined to get off this team soon by forcing their hand. He is unhappy here and wants to leave. He will never live up to that contract and he knows it. It sounds like he is a mid-west, low key guy who doesn't want any negative media attention. It was a horrible signing, and the new staff is stuck with an overpaid and unhappy talent. I think they would accept a 2nd round pick for him on day 2 of the draft. This is an unfortunate set back as he will be difficult to replace, but one the team seems destined to make.

Where did you dig all these assumptions up from the National Enquirer? You have a lot of assumptions in this post that you seem to be passing off as truths.

Re: Haynesworth might learn a few things about Shanahan from Plummer
Where there's smoke, there's fire. I can't remember where I read it, but I have read that Haynesworth is not a 'big city' guy. I also work with someone who knows the Haynesworth family, and grew up with his Albert's uncle. He said that Albert loved the University of Tennessee; the area, the people. He enjoyed playing for the Titans, and that Albert grew up a shy, introverted kid, but very temperamental. And that the criticism he received here really bothered him. He didn't say anything about Albert wanting to be traded or averse to the 3-4. Personally I think he would be fine with a trade, and he doesn't want to play in a 3-4.
It seems obvious to me that he came here for the money first and foremost. I have felt that he never seemed to really fit in here. He has made statements about the 3-4, his refusal to attend OTAs and possibly not attending voluntary camp just sends a very negative message as far as I am concerned. I do not see any way this gets resolved except for a trade. Of course I can't get in Shanahan's head, but I believe he will get whatever he can for Haynesworth and move on. Too much smoke in the air for it all to be misrepresentation. Last edited by jdc65; 04-12-2010 at 08:19 PM. |

Interesting article on Haynesworth, sounds like a good guy and someone with long term, broad ranging plans for the future.
I just wonder about his commitment to football at this point with all that money, and all the other stuff he has going on. |

Yeah but that at least was based on a commercial that even Campbell himself was in poking fun at himself
