Sports Junkies sucks. I would rather listen to my local sports radio.
I was hearing the Junkies today talk about football...they aren't even real Skins fans...they like Baltimore, one of the guys was talking about how is a San Fran fan? Like get the eff out of here. fuck San Fran and the fucking 49ers

Over the last year I really become a Sheehan fan with the Pod cast. His demeanor and point of view on things really reminds me of friends when I lived up Northern Va/DC. Impatient, calling out bullshit and not beating around the bush on things...its funny.

Re: Offseason Roster Moves Thread

Olsen has a broadcasting career locked and loaded if he wants it. I don’t think it’s a given he keeps playing, but if he does come here I’d be fine with it. It’s not as if he’s the answer beyond a year or so but he could be a band-aid on a messy situation at TE.

If we want a 1 year band aid TE, I prefer for us to go with Vernon Davis than Olsen or any other old TEs. At least, Davis can still outrun LBs and some DBs.

Why not Olsen and Davis then? We need more than one guy

Jason Witten is an argument to the other side. Olsen would give us a guy that is saavy enough to find that sweet spot in zones, or get that extra yard on 3rd down that a rookie might not get.

I agree. I think we do need a savy vet for 1 year that can find the soft spots, know when its a hot route and all those little things that make a young Qb comfortable.

I imagine he wont be more than 3-5M.

Only concern is injury history and availability.

--------------------
Since we are talking TEs. I feel like we are all assuming Reed is going to retire but he is set to make 10.3M (1.8M signing bonus) and 8.75M in 2021.

I guess if he retires and files that paper work, he gives up that 1.8M. Im torn, I loved his potential, he showed loyalty sigging that LTD ... but hes been paid handsomely by a per snap basis. I feel like the Skins dont owe him anything .. if anything in a moral and perfect world he would retire and forgo the 1.8M as a tip of the hat to Skins ...

I guess we pay him the 1.8M and he retires or we pay him the 1.8M and cut him.

Any chance at all we bring him back and roll the injury dice on a potential 10.3M cap hit?

im guessing Reed doesnt retire, "stays on", forces us to cut him, he pockets 1.8m then goes and signs a 1 year deal with another team (with much of the money bonus-based dependent on him being on the active roster).

A band-aid who understands Rons system and could contribute almost immediately. Seems like a no-brainer but we shall see.

Re: Offseason Roster Moves Thread

Olsen seems like a class act type guy, he may be good if nothing else for locker room leadership with all these young guys on offense, not to mention he already knows the offense. Even though he's often injured, I certainly wouldn't complain about him on the team...but hoping they have better options.
