The Sam Howell Thread

I’d slow down on saying Howell is better than Dak and Cousins even with the $$ but I definitely want to see him get a shot to start

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

Never said Howell was better than any of them .. I said based on the cost to have one of them .. IS Dallas thrilled with Dak? , Cousins is exactly who we thought he was .. Wilson really helped Denver..smh ,Carr at his price ??? I stand by my statement!! We are better off right now than with Those choices BASED on what it would COST ..I can see the comments now if we lose Payne because of cap space just to bring in a overpaid vet QB that won’t work out ..Those Guys I mentioned are cap killers … now I’m all for a vet at a reasonable price to compete ..

Yeah agree with you on that, I want Jimmy G as QB2... He's a perfect backup and wont cost Carr type $$

Jimmy G. will be a starter somewhere next year. There aren't 32 other QBs better than him.

Jimmy G will get starter money somewhere - north of $35M per year for sure.

I don't believe that. If I remember correctly, the original plans was for Cowboys to rest the starters by 2nd half (or maybe before that) but they ended up keep them in the game because they couldn't score on us. That sure doesn't seem like they didn't care.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

I don't love Jimmy G. but he would definitely be an upgrade over Wentz/Heinicke. Likely Howell too, but the verdict is still out on how good Howell is. I am high on him. Howell vs. Jimmy G is an upside vs. proven commodity bet. I would not be mad if we signed Jimmy G. Not my preference, but I'm not getting my pitchfork out either.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

I wouldn't mind Jimmy G. He would definitely be better than anyone we've had here in a while. The problem is, what are the implications of his contract for the rest of the roster. If it prohibits the necessary upgrades needed across the O-line and for the back 7 of the defense, and doesn't allow us to get anything done with some of our own Free Agents and those a year out from being Free Agents, then we're right back where we were bringing Wentz in.

This team is not just a QB away. I think it's close, but we're not there yet.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

Would Jimmy G cost more than Wentz?🤔

Wholly agree with getting in a vet to compete with/backup Howell. Wholly disagree with trading for ANY vet QB, simply because you're paying 3 ways; picks, and salary which would both probably be overpaying, then there's the players you miss out on in giving those picks away. Take a vet FA, and probably draft another QB so we go into camp with 4 QBs, and can stash one on the PS. Then if Howell or the vet don't work out, draft again next year and keep doing it.

I could easily live with Carr if he comes as an FA (though I doubt he'll come here). Brissett too, if neither of the aforementioned want to come. Be interesting to see who else might be available after the draft.

Brisset is a big no for me.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

The crack pipe some of y’all are smoking looks a lot like Howells dick.
The disrespect for Cousins is crazy.
KC lead this bullshit team to two playoffs and the Vikings to two as well.
KC is in every other pro bowl and is near the league lead in passing yards every season.
He is who he is and that is a very good QB during the regular season*

You can’t pay our own guys and bring in a Vet QB. Draft till you get it right.
