Re: WFT 2020 Training Camp
I imagine Ron Rivera yelling at you to "get in your book and study!" sounds and is received a little bit different than Jay.

Interesting to hear about Apke. Know he's athletic for sure. Love hearing the reports about Haskins. Kid wants it and that is great to hear. |

Re: WFT 2020 Training Camp
"In the first practice open to the media, one improvement jumped out under new coach Ron Rivera: There was more crispness and urgency during practice than in years past. Players hustled between drills; that wasn’t always the case in previous years. Safety Landon Collins said there was more intensity than last year. Also, at the end, coach Ron Rivera told the players a list of areas he wanted to see improved, including attention to detail. Then he told the rookies: Get more in the playbook."

Re: WFT 2020 Training Camp
I like hearing that Rivera is pushing the players to change the lazy, slow pace, no sense of urgency attitude that existed under Gruden.

You can feel in his voice it's less funny and way more strict than under Jay.

Right on the money. Many players (coming from other NFL teams) were shocked at the slow pace of practices under Gruden. In addition, Gruden was Uber-soft. Players were not challenged in his practices. In my opinion, that’s why the team always started off the season slow and they could not get up for the big games. Teams like the Patriots finished practice by running hills. In the fighter pilot world, “You practice as you fight”. Football is the same, which is why I’m happy that Rivera has emphasized a fast tempo in practice, and yelled at the players who were just standing around. Killing the Gruden, lazy ass practice tempo will take a little time but players will appreciate it later when they start winning games. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: WFT 2020 Training Camp
Interesting episode after 1st public padded practice
JP Finlay made a way too early bold prediction saying you can lock Wes Martin down as your starting LG. Love it !

Re: WFT 2020 Training Camp
You guys do this every year. It is practice and take it with a grain of salt. Docston was killing it in practice a few years ago, as was Pryor.. lol.

Re: WFT 2020 Training Camp
Sprinkles other problem is he counts more ($2.2m) on the cap than the others and it is the last year of his rookie deal. He has had three years to show something, I would prefer my 3rd TE to have some upside and be cheap like Moss or Hentges (sp?). I don't think there is enough talent there to warrant keeping a fourth TE, if we need a replacement during the season those on the FA market are going to be just as good I think. So if he is not the starter of principle backup/blocking TE I don't think you can justify keeping him at that salary.
