Yes we know he's somewhat of a project, but it's they way they're handling him that's so annoying. Watch, he will not play much in the pre season. Tom Brady will play more than Haskins will.

Didn't Haskins even say himself that he might need some time to develop and just wanted to be ready to start, whether that was this year or next year?

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread

Just heard on the Redskins Talk Pod Colt re-injured his ankle again and was pulled from practice today.

I can't find it anywhere in print and the severity isn't known but Finlay and Mitch insinuated it was the same ankle which he broke last year.

If Colt starts he will last about 4 weeks.

I give it 2 weeks, he couldn't even last that in 2018. Dude is made of glass, the only reason he's even "competing" for a starting job is due to Jay. No other team in the league would have Colt listed as QB1

I doubt Colt would even be a QB2 on a lot of teams.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread

Colt has a noodle arm and his lack of arm strength would be quickly exploited with him as the starter.

People seem to forget that Keenum did some very good work as the starter for the Vikings the year before the Vikes screwed up and signed Cousins. He would probably be the better choice as the stopgap starter if Haskins isn't ready to start the season.

Haskins probably won't start until Jay Gruden loses enough games with Colt and/or Keenum to desperately fear losing his job.

Agree with all of this. Keenum is the best choice, for all things considered, at this point to start wk 1. Interested to see how he looks in the preseason. He has been raving about Gruden's offense which cannot be a bad thing.

For what it's worth, there was a few reports that Colt's arm seems to be stronger this year.... for what it's worth.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread

Gruden hates to carry more than two QB on the roster and he has always loved Colt. This is the main reason we have never had a developmental QB because Jay rather have Colt...and is a contributing factor to our predicament.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread

“I think the addition of Terry has been a wow factor for me personally and I think everybody who has seen him run on a daily basis,” Gruden said.

Washington selected the former Ohio State player in part because of the offense’s need for speed. Listening to Gruden gush, it’s clear the coach thinks McLaurin could be the team’s top gun sooner than later.

“He’s powerful, he’s smart, and he’s physical. That’s a combination that’s rare,” Gruden said before breaking into amazed laughter. “ He’s been exciting.”

I think McLaurin is going to be a stud. Prior to the draft, Kiper had him as his #2 receiver. Think we got a gem here. His character and leadership are outstanding also.

He reminds me of a Smaller Fitzgerald. Great attitude and leadership and work ethic. We will see if that transitions to the field
