why do you think we'd trade rocky? i can't imagine we'd get anything worthwhile for him, so we might as well just keep him for another year.

Damn, son.. The way you put it in, sounds like Orakpo is only dependable LB - which is really BAD sign..

We might work Rocky into a trade for Jammal Brown.

Re: What is the team's biggest need after the draft?

Our current linebackers (from Redskins.com):

Lorenzo Alexander - Will he fit as an ILB?
H.B. Blades - still good backup at best
Alvin Bowen (who?)
Andre Carter - Years in SF prove his lack of ability to play LB.
London Fletcher - 35 years old, will need Big Al upfront to continue his high level play
Curtis Gatewood - who?
Robert Henson - Last year 5th rd pick. Did nothing
Jeremy Jarmon - Played DE in college. Must make transition
Rocky McIntosh - Did have his best year with us in 2009, but true WLB in a 4-3
Brian Orakpo - Beast, confident he will play 4-3 DE and 3-4 OLB with no problem
Perry Riley - Rookie
Chris Wilson - listed as LB/DE

Yes, as I see it, in a 3-4 base, we have only one solid LB- Orakpo. Fletcher will produce as he always does but that's it. More than half the roster is either unproven, or previously proved they are limited to backup roles, best suited for the 4-3, or proven they can't play well in a 3-4.

We need serious ILB help.

I wouldn't think that changing from Will in the 4-3 to 3-4 would cause many issues.. especially grading somebody as a true Will in just the 4-3.. feel free to correct me if I'm not thinking of something

Well, you're 100% right if you take all your info from LL:
Redskins Insider - LaRon Landry plans on helping Perry Riley adjust to the NFL
And LL knows a lot more about football than I do.

Maybe he develops into a starter 1-2 yrs behind McIntosh until we let McIntosh go via free agency since they play the same position.
We have enough LBs on the roster but not enough quality depth to trade Rocky this year I don't think. Unless it's him and Carter for true 3-4 personnel.

I'd rather Fletcher take Riley under his wing than Landry.

I thought when Orakpo was acting DE Chris Wilson played the LB role? Otherwise Orakpo was LB. I don't have a question about Wilson. The others I do though. Jarmon might turn out to be good and Henson might step up like everyone is hoping Kelly does.
