Celtics absolute DESTRUCTION of the Lakers to win the Championship in '07-'08. Outside of the Skins SB wins I can't remember a more enjoyable win.

Re: Sports Moments You Will Tell Your Kids

Since I'm a young gun there haven't been as many moments for me as some of the elders here but I can think of a few off the top of my head I'd tell my kid about when the time is right.

Manning/Brady aka Colts/Pats rivalry
Monday Night Miracle, with Sean Taylor's game clinching hit at the end still in vivid detail.
Tiger Woods, even though I'm still not much of a golf fan.
Alexander Ovechkin, even though where he stands amongst the legends of hockey still hasn't been noted mainly due to not enough seasons (aka i'll be telling my son, "back in my day before Ovie was finishing up his career, he scored goals like it was nothing. Check this youtube clip of the most amazing goal I've ever seen, it was against Phoenix way back in the day when his legend was just getting established. )

That's the ones for now.

Re: Sports Moments You Will Tell Your Kids

The Matt Bradley story from last night seems like a good place to start

Re: Sports Moments You Will Tell Your Kids

Other Sports: Aaron Boone walkoff to win the ALCS for the Yankees, Probaboly the Miami vs Ohio State National Title Game, Same goes for USC/Texas and USC Notre Dame regular season from 05 (?), Syracuse winning the national championship in 2003...

Quite a few golf moments too, actually, Tiger at the Masters in 05, US Open vs Rocco last year, Phil winning his first major...

Probaboly Chris $*#& Drury beating the Rangers with 2 seconds left in the playoffs in 2007....he's on the team now and I still can't let that one slide....

Also the Palace Brawl from 2004

In the NFL: For the Skins: Monday Night Miracle, FG Block vs Dallas, Giants winning the Super Bowl, Music City Miracle...and probaboly Mike $#&@ Allstott ruining my dream day Skins/Bucs in 05.

Re: Sports Moments You Will Tell Your Kids

I could think of at least half dozen Redskins moments, some of which have already been mentioned.

In terms of other sports, I think Mike Tyson vs. Buster Douglas has to be --has to be-- like top 5. The ultimate upset. It was the beginning of the end for Mike Tyson and Buster Douglas hasn't been heard from since. For me it was the most memorable boxing match ever.

i know in 10 years i know we will all be talking about ov8 he is amazing to watch

i'm surprised that king james hasn't come up yet, he could be the greatest by the time he is done

and no love for shaq, stories of that guy will go on forever

the best thing is i have seen all three of these guys play in person and they are so much better than anyone around them

Re: Sports Moments You Will Tell Your Kids

I prefer the Al Bundy method. I am going to tell my kids about my personal sports moments in an effort to re-live my past and encourage them to pick up where I left off so that I can live vicariously through them in the event that one of them makes it pro.

I am a sad shell of my former self...pathetic
