It's totally speculative, not definitive as the thread title suggests. I just don't want to see a bunch of freak out type posts.

The title of the article, after all, is "Zorn's job in jeopardy?"
Good call, change has been made

I hope it's not true, but it wouldn't surprise me at all. Let's face it guys no matter what you've heard JZ was not our 1st, 2nd or 3rd pick. It was most likely Cowher, Spags, Fassel-prior to the fan uprising. A bad ending to this season in combination w/ the possible availability of Cowher could mean changes again.

But listen, our issues go alot deeper than JZ. Our organization may need an overhaul soon, starting at the top.

If there are changes, I would hope that there are some wholesale changes and not just the coach. I want to see if JZ can right this but if not some serious consideration should go to Jim Schwartz of Tenn. We interviewed him last year. BC wouldn't come here w/out some sort of final say on personel. Jim Fassel would be our next coach for sure. OMG.

Man, if you thought this offense doesn't attack downfield with deep passes enough, just wait for what Bill Cowher will do.

Prepare yourself for 'three yards and a cloud of dust' excitement with his offensive philosophy.

No doubt stirring things up a little. We're frustrated. DS's frustrated. JZ is frustrated. The players are frustrated.

Unfortunately when the Danny is frustrated sometimes heads roll. See Norv Turner.

Hey just for the record, the word "jeopardy" itself implies a question -- not a certainty -- that Zorn may lose his job if they don't finish 9-7.

Also for the record, I just don't think this story is as ridiculous as we all hope it is.

DS may have to come out w/ the dreaded, coach killing vote of confidence.

Nobodys safe when you don't score. The Lions have out scored us. Milk and cookie time is over. Zorns demeanor is about to change. He may even drink a beer and skip chruch. The Jaw is movin to DC.

But Zorn's not that guy, I don't think. I think we'll beat those two teams and go 9-7. He'll deserve another shot next year. But again, playing owner, I'd fully expect his passing game to make major improvement in 2009.
C'mon. Firing a rookie head coach in his first year when he's trying to implement his new offense is just stupid. Really stupid. I have some issues with Zorn but he needs time. Even if we lost to SF and Cinn. And losing to SF is a real possibility. They're playing better than we are. We simply don't have players and that's not Zorn's fault. Maybe Snyder needs to look at his butt buddy Vinny. But I doubt this story is true.

re: D.C. Examiner: Zorn's job in jeopardy? (not so fast he's coming back)

The absolute worst thing that Snyder could right now is revert to being the panicky fan he was before Gibbs came along and dismiss Zorn after this season. Yeah, we're 1-4 in our last 5 games. But we were also 6-2 in our first 8 games. We're talking about a first year head coach. He deserves a chance to improve on season one. I think all first time head coaches deserve that shot. Zorn wasn't my choice necessarily for head coach, but he doesn't deserve to get dismissed.

As for Cowher...I don't see it happening. I think he's going to Dallas if anywhere

re: D.C. Examiner: Zorn's job in jeopardy? (not so fast he's coming back)

I couldn't stand that amount of turnover anymore. So what we are all saying is a man only gets one year, and doesn't get to add any of his players essentially, who is a rookie head coach and has to go through tons of growing processes himself, who took a team to what might be a winning season, the axe in one year?

I Just couldn't handle it

And please don't just pin point your thoughts on how we aren't going to have a winning season this year and we are going to lose the last 3. That is not the point of this post.

This is not a coaching problem, it is a personnel problem. We have the oldest team in the NFL. I wonder why our offensive and defensive lines get run over?
From your post it sounds like you have inside information that this is actually true and that it could be some dumb rumor someone started.

re: D.C. Examiner: Zorn's job in jeopardy? (not so fast he's coming back)

Zorn, should go down or ought to go down as the first HC ever to be an interim first year HC before the season started. His responsibilities going into this year were too over whelming and way above his pay grade and initial application.

I would hope we could either down grade him as Offensive Coordinator, but at the same time I preach continuity and being able to solidify our leadership and not this carousel of direction we are supposed to be heading.

It seems Cowher would never be interested in us. Where are we gonna find a guy worthy of us and better yet would want to keep Zorn as Off Coord.???

In Baltimore, they have Cameron for Off. and Ryan for Def. their HC Harboraugh is simply just a lifeguard watching over the 2 sides not really even messing with them. He simply is the front man who does interviews to the media and is supervisor for his staff.

Zorn posseses great character but I haven't seen the players seem to be declining their approval of him by the week. I wish Snyder/Cerrato could evaluate the talent/ team we have and be able to bring coaches/players in that work around them rather than entities that falsely build hype which fuels his product being merchandised.

I like how all of our problems are reflections of poor Mgt. but all they do is temporarily disguise it or temporarily sweep it under the rug. History seems to repeat it self again in DC.

You know I wouldn't put it pass my boy snyder. Zorn is like an Interim coach but just for the whole season. He wasn't the first second third or fourth pick for Snyder. So don't be shocked if a coach with real head coach credit turn Snyders attention back to the one we all know and loathe.
