Jason Peters?

Jason is still with the Bills over a contract dispute. He is one of the better tackles in the game both in pass protection as well as in the run game. Since Jansen is not starting anymore and with a hefty contract it may be time to try and unload him if we can get a team willing to take on his contract. We should definitely ship Jansen and a future pick to the Bills and try to get Peters to help solidify our o-line. I'm all for keeping draft picks but the guy is only 26 years old and is proven to be an elite tackle. We need the pass protection that Peters can give us since we do want to protect our qb in this west coast scheme. Then we can move Samuels to the right tackle position where I believe he will thrive. what do you guys think?

Re: Jason Peters?

a) no money and if he has a contract dispute, he wants money.
b) bad for team chemistry/morale
c) moving samuels to RT? are you nuts? no way that's happening.

peters is a good player - i'd love to have him, but i don't see it in our future.

Re: Jason Peters?

i also doubt they trade a good LT for a backup RT with a huge contract.

Since Schneed isn't here I'll channel my inner-Schneed and declare "retarded thread".

Ok with that out the way...what That Guy said.

Re: Jason Peters?

Re: Jason Peters?

Maybe next offseason... this isn't baseball or hockey where you can trade players midseason and they are effective or even thrive. It would be a great move on your Madden 09 though. If Peters were to arrive today, he'd be in football shape by week 2 or 3 and be ready to start by week 6. Even if a player had been in a camp he couldn't learn a playbook in a plane ride and have any positive affect on a team.
Jansen, on the other hand, can start anytime needed.

Re: Jason Peters?

Yeah, I would have entertained this idea a few months ago. Given Jansen just got benched, I think that hurts his trade value juuuuuust a bit.

Not to mention that nice cap number i think he carries and the fact he was demoted in favor of a undrafted 2nd year player. JJ's trade value might not be that great at this point.

Re: Jason Peters?

i don't understand why some members take it upon themselves to declare certain topics retarded? if someone takes the time to start a thread, they must feel some relevance, or just looking for others thoughts on the subject. if you think its that retarded, just don't respond. because the retarded comments add nothing to the discussion
