Gibbs press conf.
Well he said it was hard fought. Imagine that. He also said that he thinks the team wants to run the ball. Maybe Im wrong but Im sure he doesnt speak for the entire team. Last week Moss came close to saying what we all have been thinking. Pleaseeee pass more.

296 and 6.2 YPC. I don't care how much we run when we do that.

Re: Gibbs press conf.
I dont care if we rushed for 500,how can anyone be satisfied with the passing game. A win is a win true but we were up 3 and ran 8 straight times?
The year after Mark Ryp.held out and started sucking I remember playing the Vikings. We were on our 5 yd.line on 3rd and long. Well we ran the ball cause Ryp. lost the ability to throw. Cambell needs work but damn what an arm. Hes had some great throws so far. At least let him toss it once in 8 damn downs. |

Regardless, a win is a win just like you said. I'd like to see the passing game open up more but I'm pretty happy with the win and to be 5-3. |

Re: Gibbs press conf.
Our passing game isn't great.
The run was working very well this game. Why are you gonna stray from what was gaining us yards? I can understand when we're down and the coaching start freaking and start throwing 2 out of 3 downs. We're halfway through the season and our WR core still don't have a TD. Doesn't sound too comforting, eh? I just wouldn't take that risk on throwing to them when I don't have to.

Re: Gibbs press conf.
Last yr? Yr before? Not sure but anyway against the browns Portis said its like they knew what was coming next. Hell,in reading the game thread during the game most of us knew what was coming. If we as fans can predict with descent accuracy whats next you damn sure know the opposing team and coaches might have a clue. I agree stick with whats working. 8 runs in a row seems a little extreme tho. To make a long story longer we are just too damn predictable. Im sure its been discussed before. I apologize for beating a dead horse.

Remember, the Redskins were very predictable in the 80's, but nobody could stop them.

But yeah it's this year we don't have any TDs. 8 runs is excessive I agree, but since it was working so well today, I'm not really bitching. If we were down or if we were losing, I'd probably be bitching though. I cant understand why our receivers don't have any TDs. I think it was BleedBurgandy in the game thread that said he would love to look at tape of the WRs cause he didn't understand why they couldn't get more open (Don't quote me on that, cause I'm not too positive what he said exactly). But I would too. Come on. 8 games gone and no WR TDs? You can't blame JC. Especially when Thrash had one right in his mitts today.

Re: Gibbs press conf.
we need to have a passing game our> you cant win in the nfl with just running this isnt the 70's anymore. You have to atleast have the threat of a passing game. We ran the ball against one of the worst rushing defenses in the league. But with phil, dall etc your going to have to be able to get the ball down the field

Re: Gibbs press conf.
We have to have a greater effect with our passes before we can say we need to run more, it's a shame watching moss and randle el go to waste.

Re: Gibbs press conf.
Moss hinted 2 weeks ago without coming out and saying it he wished the coaches would let the players do what they do best. UR right. Its a damn shame.

Re: Gibbs press conf.
I thought the play calling was fine today. Campbell can't see the field very well at this point and is not making good decisions with the ball, so they went with a heavy formation and pounded it. The Redskins outscored them 20 - 3 after about the halfway point of the 2nd quarter.
Also, the running game set Campbell up with a great opportunity to throw the game winning TD pass which he missed. If the Redskins can run the ball like they did today the rest of the way, we will be fine.
