Re: Salary Cap Status 2024

i am not saying for you to do this

but it be nice to see a rolling future years cap space picture

i am sure teams do it

we do it with military funding as each color of money must be "spent" in specific yearly time frames

OverTheCap has this. Go over to their site, click on cap space, find the commanders, and you'll see tabs that show the cap space by year. You can see the contracts for players included in each year.

Re: Salary Cap Status 2024

OP updated to reflect OTC's data on the Biadasz contract. His cap hit is $4.15M in the first year.

He received a $13.5M signing bonus prorated over 5 years with the last two years of the deal voidable. This keeps the cap hit low in the first year.

His base salary in 2025 will be $6M and in 2026 will be $6.8M.

His cap hits in 2025 and 2026 will be $8.9M and $10.75M respectively.

This is effectively a two year deal. He can be cut in 2026 to save $2.6M in cap space, if the team feels it needs to do so. Or it can carry him for the 3rd year at the $10.75M cap number, which is a reasonable number.

Re: Salary Cap Status 2024

I found this pretty interesting: According to over the cap, we don't seem to have a lot of players with guaranteed money left in their contract (aside from the new signings). The highest ones are Daron ($15 mil) and Terry ($12.5 mil). After that, the highest remaining guaranteed money is Wylie and Jamin Davis with around $2.5 mil each.

The way the cap is rising, in 3 years that will be peanuts for a starting centre, assuming there is no drop off in performance

Re: Salary Cap Status 2024

OP updated to reflect the resignings of Jeremy All Pro Reavo Reaves, Jamison Crowder, and the pickup of LB Bobby Wagner, which I love.

I don't know how much he's got left - on one hand his engine could run a few more years like Fletcher's did. On the other, if all you get from him is leadership credibility and help with setting the standard, you've gotten your money's worth. This program needs a shot in the arm from a leadership perspective, and this is somebody who can call a team meeting and not have players roll their eyes at him, but rather nod their heads and fall in line.

Re: Salary Cap Status 2024

The OP has been updated for the actual cap hits of Bobby Wagner, Clelin Ferrell, Zach Ertz, and Jeremy Reaves.

The OP now reflects the net impact of the cap impact of trading Howell, which is $0. Clearing him off the books creates $1.1M in space, adding a player back to the top 51 subtracts $795K in space, and the impact on the rookie pool of sliding the two picks up in the draft subtracts $300K in space. Net $0.

And the OP now reflects the signings of Michael Davis and Cornelius Big Luc Lucas, using my estimates until their cap numbers become known.

$33M remaining in estimated cap space as of today 3/19/2024.

Thanks Schneed, Even at that number it looks like we'd still be in the top five of cap space available from Overthecap
