We need to bring in a project QB in the first round that has all the tools like a Mahomes or Allen and hope he works out. If not, you have midget Howell. If he can’t win it outright in the preseason he probably isn’t going to be any good. We need options. I’m not against Howell but I want to reach for an elite QB instead of being in QB purgatory like Dallas. |

Where would Sam Howell rank in the 2023 QB class? We ask four draft experts

Re: The Sam Howell Thread
How would Howell compare to this class? “He’d be in there with Hooker and ahead of [Stetson] Bennett, ahead of Max Duggan, Jake Haener so either at five or six. I would have a second-round grade.”

Re: The Sam Howell Thread
I need to get ahold of Sam's people and get him to send a stripper or 5 to jamf's house. We all have a price. I want jamf on the Howell train.

Yeah I don’t get the whole “you can’t draft a QB until a new owner “ I thought Ron and co. call the shots?

Re: The Sam Howell Thread
If Ron has any chance of sticking here then gambling on a guy who will likely take a year to develop is shear stupidity and he would deserve to get fired. Whoever replaces him will not be tied to the pick so wont be invested in developing him, which is what Richardson needs. It would in all likelihood be a wasted pick.
The safest pick for Ron is someone who can start day one and improve the team. |

Re: The Sam Howell Thread
I dont think Ron is drafting based on ownership. I just would not draft a quarterback from this class in the first round period. Not with the holes we got. Sam is our project quarterback. Don’t need two. Build around the first project and give him a chance. If Hendon Hooker is drafted in round two I would be less upset because apparently he is rising fast. If Sam pans out and we got Hooker in the wings I can live with the “problem”. Plus Jamf will never have to buy another jersey again.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread
100%. Plus if you go into camp with those 3 QBs and Brissett winds up starting week 1, you look like an idiot, because the team will be looking to draft yet another QB next year and you have 2 more wasted picks. And probably another wasted season. Can't see RR doing this.
