Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
Agreed. A lot can happen in the next 4-6 weeks, and that includes Wentz losing his job here forever.
Of course, both Heinicke and Howell (if he plays) could both shit the bed too. But even if that happens, have you seen enough from CW in six games to want to pay him? I haven't, but he could potentially get six more to close out the season. |

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
not that safe, if Ron is still in charge next season anything is on the table. Doubt he will want to start with a rookie QB with his job on the line, and if he was the guy who decided to get CW he is likely to want to prove he is right

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
They can get out of his contract in 2023 with no dead cap. That would be very enticing if they're not 110% sold on him, which how can the be at this point. If they end up with a top 5 pick in the draft why not move on?

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
Why indeed. You make very good logical points, but that is the problem. It is not safe to say they will follow logic or reason as we and 99% of the football world see it.

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
It's probably not possible to get $25mill of value out of CW with this OL and coaching staff, so I'd be surprised to see him back, and I'd be slightly surprised to see Ron back.

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
He wasn't worth 28M any way. He's a average passer with a big arm.. He doesn't read the field at all.
Hopefully Sam Howell gets in sooner than later and Wentz is done

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
This was such a terrible trade. The only good thing about was they could move on from Wentz after one year. But if Ron actually knew what he was doing, he would have just rolled w/ Taylor and let Howell come in when he was ready. Total waste of resources, time and also development for Howell.
Howell could be way farther along if he had had a chance to play more, instead they messed around w/ Wentz. |
