Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
Seems to me that if we want to get a "franchise QB" in this draft, we are going to have to give up something to move up into the top 10. Where we will be drafting, the best we can hope for is Trask or the kid from Cincinnati and neither of those two seem like a sure thing.

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
Seems like a lot of WRs and LTs in the second half of the 1st round.
Things are setting up nicely. |

T Law has all the tools, will he translate? I think so but you can never say for sure

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
I agree that longer term Ridder could be an NFL QB. But I am not sure if it would take 1 year ..... or 3. And that is the problem. We are in an unusual situation where a defensive unit has jelled very quickly while our offense, particularly at QB is far from certain. I think that the four QB's who could be ready to start next year are Lawrence, Fields, Wilson and Jones. But to get one of them, we would have to "trade up". So the question becomes whether the cost of moving up is worth the immediate benefit of obtaining one of the top four QB's. I am hopeful this off-season that football professionals, not Dan Snyder will be making that decision.

You can take Ridder at 19 because even if he doesn't pan out that isn't a huge loss, I'd rather take him in the 2nd tho

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
I think Mac Jones is more NFL ready than Ridder. I haven't watched all their games, but in the few I have seen, I think I'd take Jones over Ridder. I don't know where they will be drafted...19 seems pretty high for both of them. If Jones can be had with that 2nd round pick, I'd be ok with that.

How is everybody who knows college football feeling about Mac Jones? I only saw a bit of one game, but he looked like a guy who might be available and have a shot.

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
He's better than Trask and Ridder right now but that doesn't mean he'll be better in a few years. Low ceiling, accurate thrower , decent arm, can't move well.. He is not a Justin Herbert but he could be a Kirk Cousins type.

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
I think Jones moves well enough. He seems to have great pocket presence, and he's very accurate. He won't get you an 80 yard run, but he can get you a few yards scrambling if necessary. Why do you think he has a low ceiling.

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
He's not going to be a Herbert is what I mean, like his arm wont jump out at you but that doesn't mean he can't be a damn good QB. Dak Precott is a similar comp actually and I'd love that type of QB

If we took Jones at 19 I'd be cool with that

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
If we win Saturday (never know) we could be drafting higher, hopefully he’s still there. Any of these guys would be an improvement over Haskins.
