RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman

Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman died of apparent drug overdose: NYPD source - MSN Movies News

If the rumors are true, another OD claims a good one. Can't imagine how his kids are feeling right now. RIP.

Re: RIP Phillip Seymour Hoffman

It would seem that sometimes with great talent comes great personality flaws, like addiction.

I met Mr. Seymour-Hoffman at a LACMA event to promote his movie Capote. He was funny and engaging, willing to chat to people and although he was arty he wasn't a luvvie star.

My favorite movie of his will always be 'Happiness', a black comedy that's not for the faint of heart.

A sad loss.

Well said. My favorites of his have to be The Big Lebowski, where he was the absolute perfect sycophant, and The Master. The acting in the former is truly amazing.

Really loved him as an actor. Incredibly versatile in the roles he could play.

With that preface ... holy crap, he was a walking pharmaceutical store! Philip Seymour Hoffman Death: 50 Packets of Suspected Heroin Found in Actor's Apartment, Autopsy Expected to Happen Monday | Comcast

Re: RIP Phillip Seymour Hoffman

Interesting reading that in 2013 Hoffman entered rehab after experimenting with perscription pills which bloomed into herion addiction. Folks, one day we will learn that the most threating drugs in our society are the legal ones. Too bad pharmaceutical companies have our government in their pocket.

He's been great in every movie, and he was one of those impressive actors that can get so lost in the role that it's difficult to even recognize him. Very rare.
