What’s with Minnesota?

They got it handed to them two weeks in a row.
I thought they shored up their defense in the off season.

Maybe they need Randy. Smoot might be wishing he was back in DC.

Re: What’s with Minnesota

I hate to be the stick in the mud but, who cares? Troy Williamson was supposed to fill the void left by Moss. Not the case so far. But I'll say this. Maybe this is the type of season MIN needs to be a contender in the playoffs. I mean, this is a team that has gotten off to a great start the past few seasons before going on a free fall at regular season's end. You have to be playing your best ball going into the playoffs. So don't write this team off just yet.

It's all about Randy Moss. Like it or not, a player like Moss, if you like him or not, makes you respect the pass. He pulls a safety with him no matter what, he opens up your other receivers and RBs. Daunte Culpepper is getting picked apart, and this is why I thought the Vikes were going to try for a brusing RB.

well i posted this in another thread but it belongs here:

I don't like the vikings by the way

poor little stupid smoot, he went to a worser defense for more money, now he is on a team that can't score an offensive poing. Poor little stupid smoot, he talked some trash this week, then chad johnson called him out, then chad gets over 125 yards and a touchdown(on my fantasy team) and proves smoot is a great number two but average number one. Poor little stupid smoot almost made the probowl last year and now is on a team that gave up over 500 yards this week. Poor little stupid smoot

Look at Tice the guys press conferences are like bad imitations of John Wayne he tries to be this tough guy. He just doesn't seem terribly sophisticated. He also got busted scalping his league supplied super bowl tix last year. I know they lost moss, and the o coordinator but I think you lead from the top and Tice just doesn't seem top flight.
He had some early success with great talent and now I think people are on top of their schemes.

Smoot'll be OK. MIN seems to have problems running the ball without Moss. And Culpepper was stripped of the often used 'just-throw-it-up-and-go-get' play that was a staple in their offense. Now they have to rely on longer drives and smarter reads which is probably why he threw five INTs today. And throw in the fact that 2-3 guys in the secondary don't have to spy on Moss (as they do), the running game isn't as effective.

Re: What’s with Minnesota

On the subject of the NFC North, which looks like it is completely up for grabs, who do you guys think is the favorite. I have to say the Bears D is for real, the guys in my fantasy league think that I was a nut case for drafting them, of course I got Skins D as well....wishing now I started Da Bears this week. Anyhow, what does everyone think, I am out to lunch thinking Chicago looks like the best team in the NFC North right now?

Also how long before all of the pundits jump off the Minnesota and Arizona band wagons, since the pundits were all touting those two teams before the season started? If the Redskins are not ranked above those two teams in the so called Power Rankings, it will just confirm that those rankings are manure. I can't believe people would get hyped on Arizona, all I have to say is, "Bidwell Brothers". Everyone rips on Snyder, but at least he will pay whatever it takes to win.

Poor smoot wasn't appreciated enough in Washington for him to actually get the pay he so deserved after his hard play. I know he's used to being on a team that lights the score board up.... oh.. wait.

Re: What’s with Minnesota

I'm so glad that the dilemmas that have plagued the Redskins are finally start to rear its ugly head on other teams. Minnesota recruited Smoot, Sharper, Robinson and Travis Taylor. There is no chemistry on the defense and Culpepper doesn't have a big target like Moss.

yes sir, he wasn't offered enough money, i agree. He made a choice, go to a defense that was considered among the leagues worst and assume a harder and more important role or stay with a team who had surpassed all expectations. He made a choice, more money and a defense that wasn't as good. It is pretty fair to me, he made a choice. He is living with that choice. His D gave up 500 yards in the last game and the redskins who gave up less than a third of that in their last game. He however must have eaten a better meal and must be sleeping in a more comfey bed tonight with that "up front" money he is making.
He is living with the good and the bad. Maybe POOR little smoot is the wrong choice of words, maybe rich sellout suckass smoot is better?

Well it is more of the same lighting up the score board for him, his offense if you could call it his got less yards an fewer points than the redskins did in their last game against a defense that i truly believe is worse. There are players who will stick by a team that can make a name for them and there is the rich sellout suckass smoot type
