Redskins-Giants: Big Game!!!

Sunday's game is huge.
We all know it, but it will perhaps set the tone for the race for the NFC East. If we are to prove we are a good team, we must win Sunday. The Redskins match up well at pretty much every position against the Giants and have shown well in every game this season. If the Washington defense can stay in lanes and play position this game shouldn't be a problem. It does seem most games are really close, but I think we can take the Gmen in all facets of this game. Only worry for me is Manning having alot of time and WR's or Shockey finding some space.
Key to winning: Redskins control OL battle, Arrington not getting burnt outta his lane(cause Barber is a burner in the open), Redskins get Eli under pressure to force mistakes and the Redskins must push the points to make sure no last minute FG or Eli drive could make a difference.
I'll be hoping Sean Taylor plays at full volume at 1pm Sunday and sippin espresso on my brother's porch in my gary clark jersey; I'm 4-1 this season in it!

Re: Big Game!!!

Huge game. The keys to this game are:
Offense not turning the ball over
Defense not allowing big plays
Pressuring Eli...
I think we have a real shot at winning this game. I haven't checked the stats but Eli hasn't really played a top defense yet. IF, we don't we would have to make up for it at home against the Iggles.

Re: Big Game!!!

I think this game is not as big as the Philly game at home. We have beaten the Giants at least once in the last two seasons. But to beat the Eagles and Cowboys on the first match-up is a major boost since we play our last three games in our division. The pressure is on the Giants this week coming on the field with an emotional high and attempting to win this one for the "Duke" of Wellington. I see this game as a precursor to our dominance in this division and hopefully a homefield advantage in the playoffs.

Re: Big Game!!!

This is a big game. It's the type of game that will have this board talking Superbowl if we win or how much we suck if we lose. Hopefully everyone keeps a level head about it either way. We have a lot more "big" games ahead of us.

Re: Big Game!!!

I think if we can pull out a win tomorrow, it helps us to relax more when we play the Eagles. Now, that isn't to say that we take the Eagles lightly, but it says that having a 5-2 record gives us a little more room for error.

"Offense not turning the ball over

Arent these the keys to every football game ever played on any level? If The skins went out and had a good week of practice and dident get conplacent because of there blow out win and first place standings then they will go out and play the G-men tight and have a shot at winning at the end of the game.

Re: Big Game!!!

I have felt we should beat the G-men convincingly, but we have to factor in the emotional state of the Giants right now, and the old win one for W. Mara attitude they will have tommorow, I still think we will win, though I believe the Giants emotional state will make it much tougher, our defense will for the most part shut them down, and our offense will move the ball against a below average defense, couple that with homefield advantage, and the W. Mara motivation and we should see a pretty good game with a lot of points being scored, take the skins and the over in this one.

Re: Big Game!!!

More than any other game this season, tomorrow's game against the Giants will determine whether the Redskins get universal respect from football "experts."

I've read columns saying how the Redskins are mere "pretenders" and are the worst team in the NFC East. These naysayers claim that we won two games against teams that beat themselves (the Cowboys and Seahawks), two games against awful opponents (the Bears and 49ers), and lost two games against quality opponents (the Chiefs and Broncos). If we lose to the Giants by more than a touchdown, there are going to be an awful lot of experts saying that our record of 4-2 is simply a mirage.

Conversely, if we beat the Giants by more than a touchdown, we will become the team to beat in the NFC East. We will have gone into a tough stadium, against a tough and respected team, and beat them when they are "hyped up."

Trust me, tomorrow's game will determine how "experts" view us for quite some time.

Re: Redskins-Giants: Big Game!!!

if we don't turn the ball over we will win.

i felt we could lose the broncos game but i feel the same way about this game as i did about the chiefs game. Away at a hard stadium, above average offense, below average defense and a lot to prove for both teams. I was REALLY confident about the chiefs game but we lost that game due to turnovers, we won in every other catagory. The giants have zero control in this game, we have it all. A superior defense and a slightly better offense, they got the home field but this game is in our hands, we will control the pace and outcome of this game. If there are no turnovers we will win.

Re: Redskins-Giants: Big Game!!!

Tommarow is the biggest game we have played since either the Dallas 2001 game or the 2000 game we played against the Giants. I havent been this pumped for a game in a long long time. ITs now 1:32 (really 2:32) and I dont even know if I'm gonna sleep. I cant wait for this thing to get going!

I agree w/you here. It's all about the emotion here, but I think it's only good for a quarter or so. After that all bets are off.

If we don't give them 3 turnovers, we could run away with a big win!!

I like the Skins 27-10 in this one!!

Portis get's his first TD reception of year.

Re: Redskins-Giants: Big Game!!!

Tough day, horrible game.
All I can hope for is the Eagles to lose to Denver.
Hopefully next week will be a better showing on Prime Time.
Next week is not only a big game, but perhaps the pivotal point of our season.

I agree, totally. We win at home we're 2-1 in our division and go to Tampa to teach them a lesson or two.
