Redskins hire new special teams coordinator

The Redskins named Nate Kaczor as their new special teams coach. He had interviewed with them earlier in the week. Kaczor spent the last three years with Tampa Bay; he served in the same capacity with Tennessee from 2013-15.

Re: Redskins hire new special teams coordinator

Guys I know we are down on the coaches of this team and I’m not a fan of Snyder and Allen at all but can you imagine having to work everyday and try instill winning while working for a company that undermines you.. which is what Allen and Snyder do. No coaches want to come here .. look at the way they had interviews for D cordinator while Manusky is still here! Who would want to work here..? The coaches biggest job here is overcoming the front office circus ! I could see Gruden getting fired and having success with another team .. the issues with skins run way deeper than any coach is gonna change .. Mcvay would have a hard time winning with this team .. until somehow Allen is gone or Snyder is not the owner(fat chance) I’m afraid all the coaching changes are not gonna mean zilch..

I am curious how much of the credit for special teams should go to Way and Hop.

It's completely anecdotal, but we didn't block one, and were never really made the other teams pay with big returns.

I thought our return coverage units were very solid. Way and Hop were probably a top five kicking combo...so they bare a lot of credit and probably the most visible portion of the unit. Def biggest keys to our success

Re: Redskins hire new special teams coordinator

I looked up this guy on the Tampa Bay boards to see what people were saying about him. Not glowing reviews. Lots wanted him fired. I think special teams under him were ranked like 28th or 29th...

https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamst

We excelled at the kicking part of ST (punting, kick offs, and field goals).

We were bad in punt returns, and kick off returns.

We were better than TB in every aspect of ST.

Typical underwhelming hire.

Re: Redskins hire new special teams coordinator

Question is what were the #redskins smoking when they hired this guy. His ST unit was 29th in the league..smdh.

Redskins hire new special teams coordinator

Washington is learning that they can no longer attract any top tier to good level coaching talent. Good talent would rather take lesser money elsewhere, and Snyder’s money is not longer good. They’re left with the league’s rejects, and no names. Not only that, but all of their current coaches are begging to leave too, or taking jobs for the SAME position elsewhere.

It’s been a long road to this place, but they’re at the end of the line finally. Hopefully BIG changes in 2020.

Yup. What good ST coordinator is going to come here knowing Gruden could be a lame duck and the guy/s running the ship are clueless? None of them, that's who.

It is clear now the plan is to tank 2019 and hope to get a top 3 draft pick then clean house. There cannot be any other explanation to this shit.
Bruce Allen has to go.
