Raiders get 2 #1's!!!!!

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2...akland-raiders

The Raiders and Bears have an agreement in place to trade pass-rusher Khalil Mack to Chicago, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The sides are still working on the deal, sources said.

Too much to pay for one player. Good for Oakland though.

I’d say two ones is the right price for a guy this great. Good chance you’ll whiff on one of them.

But I think I get your point - Mack is great but the Bears have more holes. They should have kept the picks.

It would have made sense if they were contenders this year and the only thing holding them back was an average pass rush.

However they are not that team.

It's not just the picks, they now have to hand him a 22mil/yr contract on top of that. That really is a steep price, but I understand their situation and your point about whiffing on picks. The truth of the matter is, the NFCN is loaded with good QBs (Rodgers, Cousins, Stafford) and pass rushing is going to be essential to competing against those division rivals. This helps out Chicago a ton in that area.

The guy is in his prime years. I like the move for them. Go out and get it. Bears fans have to be ready to do some winning.

Pressure is on to nail the 2nd/3rd round picks the next 2 seasons.

...and he got paid.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2...akland-raiders

The Chicago Bears have reached a record-setting six-year, $141 million extension with Khalil Mack on Saturday, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter, after acquiring the pass-rusher from the Oakland Raiders earlier in the day.

Re: Mack to the Bears.........

Bears don't have any high salaries, they can absorb the cap no problem. The bigger issue is if they need a new qb

Re: Mack to the Bears.........

It continues to frustrate me how few of you understand the salary cap. Before acquiring Mack the Bears had 25M in salary cap space, and even with Mack’s huge salary on the books in 2019, they still project to have $25M.

They’ll miss the picks. But their cap situation is such that signing Mack is not going to cost them any opportunities to make moves.

It’s like you guys think every team is spending to the cap every year and thus can’t afford to sign a stud player. It’s just not true.

You can argue that two firsts is too much but don’t give me the salary cap bullshit until you have the facts straight.

Not saying he won't work out, just that this leaves them with few options IF he doesn't
