What are you looking forward to this season with the Skins?
Winning alway but coming off 3 seasons of just god aweful football...my expectations for winning are the most tempered in a very long time.
1. With Scot McCloughan now in the fold, I'm gonna be focused on the guys he has brought in within his first6 months. I'm excited to see his ideal "football" players and how the team takes shape. 2. Gruden. How does this guy rebound from the rookie HC status...what did he learn, how does he handle it going forward? More downs than ups his first year, but I not sold on this guy sitting on his hands and being satisfied with the teams performance the first year. Lotta folks have moved on and I want to see how Gruden system on offense progresses. 3. Front 7 on defense. I have the highest hopes for this unit this year. Its been too long since we have had a consistent performing D up front. Joe Barry, who/what is this guy? Seems like a wild card at D coach, but have heard nothing but positives about his approach. God Im just thrilled Haslutt is gone. What are you excited about this coming season?

Re: What are you looking forward to this season with the Skins?
The only thing I'm excited about is football is starting. My expectations for this team are basically to be more competitive than they were last year. They can win 4 games but just be more competitive.
Really SM is the only thing going for this organization at this point. He's the one guy that I have hope in. Gruden looked lost last year. Not sure he's HC material and we may need a to blow him out of here at the end of the year. Not sure this entire "Tampa North" good ole boy stuff is what's best for this organization. As far as Barry is concerned... yawn. Show me. I really don't want to hear "we're going to be more aggressive" talk. Same crap was said last year. Remember, they couldn't execute the most simple coverages last year. How was that on Haslett? He needed to go but him being the main cause of the defense sucking is overblown. |

Re: What are you looking forward to this season with the Skins?
I know we're not contenders, so all I want is a reason to jump up and cheer. The hard-hitting, physical mentality will do wonders for me. Things I'd love to see:
- Scherff and Williams bulldozing in the run game. If it's going well we'll see the Redskins call runs to the left and right in equal balance when it's 3rd and short. - Some intimidating safety play. Goldson regaining his aggressive form would be great. Seeing Jeron lay some wood, too. - Bone crushing hits on kick & punt coverage from the likes of guys like Spaight - Knighton digging in for a stalemate against a doubleteam while Keenan shoots the gap and blows up the RB for a loss - General attitude, pride and nastiness - The occasional bomb to Desean just to provide the fun & fireworks Wins & losses are less important to me than seeing genuine progress in forming the nasty physical identity that McCloughan envisions.

Oh and seeing a pass rusher develop opposite Kerrigan would do wonders for the future. Don't care if it's Murph or Preston Smith. Preferably both.

Super Bowl Baby!!
j/k ... same as everyone else - competitive play. An improved RGIII, I really, really want this guy to succeed. An improved defense overall. Breeland developing and an improved secondary generally.

you know, in my mind Ive moved on from RG3. I really dont expect much at this point. I think the better Oline play could expose just how bad at pocket passing he is...hope im completely wrong

Re: What are you looking forward to this season with the Skins?
He definitely needs to get better. Because if the line is improved then the guy who really stands to benefit from that is Cousins. He knows where to go with the ball, it's just pressure caused him to do some really stupid crap in the past.
If the line plays better but RG3 still hesitates to get the ball out, I predict short leash. Because Jay will recognize Cousins can succeed behind a strong line.

ATTITUDE the defense to scare some folks and....Punish all to be IN every game see Scherff show why he rated a #1 pick Preston Smith to bring it like he should have been taken in Scherff's place Kerrigan to graduate from the Dexter Manley finishing school.....sans addiction, illiteracy, etc a punishing run game with a Riggo type finish on all runs Crowder to be the answer in the return game and slot to be proud of our secondary The Redskins to........matter (and of course, I want the winning 6) thank you Santa

Re: What are you looking forward to this season with the Skins?
i want a QB that doesn't hold the offense back.
excited for the D... hopefully they're good this year. sometimes it takes a year after replacing so many pieces to get everyone playing together and on the same page, but I'd really like to skip that part. hoping our run game is a lot better too (it hasn't been terrible, but last year we had a lot of trouble with consistency (3rd down, goal line, etc)). |

Re: What are you looking forward to this season with the Skins?
I mainly want to see improvement. Its going to take a whole lot of luck to make the playoffs. Most people are giving us good grades for the off season moves, I want to see that start to translate on the field to build on in future years.

Re: What are you looking forward to this season with the Skins?
I just want to see signs that we've got something to look forward to. Signs that McCloughan has planted the initial seeds of sustained success.

Re: What are you looking forward to this season with the Skins?
1. Defense. Secondary and up front. Really excited to see the secondary perform. Keenan Robinson's second year. Dude was a beast as a rookie and I can't wait to see him with more experience.
2. Qb play. Good or bad. Lets put this baby to bed once and for all. I want success at the qb spot...but I will concede to a bust if it makes all the controversy go away. 3. Run game. Amo with more protection? Yes please.

Re: What are you looking forward to this season with the Skins?
1. More wins.
2. Obvious progress in all phases of the game. 3. Physicality and nastiness. 4. Resolution of the QB situation. 5. Much less drama. 6. Organizational stability going forward.

Re: What are you looking forward to this season with the Skins?
Yup. Really hoping we start to see the foundation laid for McC's blueprint. Idc anymore whether it's RG3 or Cousins who's successful, I just want to see one of them not hold us back.
