I've figure it all out......

...... there are two things that you can count on every NFL off-season.

#1 - The Redskins organization will do something stupid.

#2 - The Redskins organization will do something unexpected.

Here is what they are thinking:
They will combine the two 1st round picks and move up, but not to select Edwards. Instead, they will take QB Aaron Rodgers with the 3rd pick of the draft!

Look at the timing of the whole thing. They make this move right after the 49ers all but settle on Alex Smith. Everyone knows that Miami won't be able to resist selecting the premier RB in the draft (take your pick). Cleveland has so many holes to fill and giving thier recent history of making high selections they will be falling over themselves to unload the #3 ( and knowing the skins they'll probally throw in another pick.....sigh ).

The only question that remains is Why? Because they're the Redskins, that's why!!! Why not throw away everything on an unproven player out of a draftpool that everyone agrees holds no blue chip talent? When this organization gets it's sights on a player it will not be denied. It's as if they get more pride and satisfaction out of making big, splashy off-season moves than they do by actually winning football games. It's like they are in a 'Whose got the Biggest Balls?' competition with the rest of the league. The entire organization has become an extension of Dan Snyder's ego.

I hope I am wrong. No one player is worth what they are about to give!! But they have overpaid for players in the past (understatement). If it does happen I'm sure they will shop Ramsey for whatever they can get for him and they'll go into the season with Brunell, a rookie and Hasslebeck as thier QBs.

The only other option I can come up with is that they are planning on grabbing Heath Miller with the #25 thinking that he would add a new wrinkle for the O and create mismatches for opposing Ds. To me that would be a much more attarctive option - still overpaid, but better.

Whatever they do I agree that it is already all planned out. They did not do this just to "give themselves options".

He couldn't play in the Senior Bowl because of an injury and then he pulled up lame at his workout and couldn't continue. I don't believe either were supposed to be serious.

wow... I am completely taken aback by that theory. I think you may be certifiable. I mean, everyone's excited with the draft coming up, but that's just an amazing theory. wow...

Re: I've figure it all out......

All I can say is if we draft a QB in the first rd it's over as far as winning so long as Snyder is in charge and Gibbs is evaluating talent. What I am waiting to see is if they became any smarter after last season when we spent 50 mil, Champ, and a second rd pick on a system back, who weigh's 200lbs soak and wet and then pretended the guy was J.Riggins, then threw 43 mil and a 3rd rd pick at a washed up QB who was about to be released, I say if Williams is gone by 9 and we are not taking a DE, then we have to start trading down, there is plenty of talent between the 15th and the 50th pick.
