Re: Jason Hatcher removed from PUP list
That would be great to get him on the field for the third game to see what we really have....

I can accept that last season might have been his career best year, yet he'll help our pass rush a lot this season if he can just consistently push the pocket. It's not that I don't expect more of him; I just don't care who gets the sacks as long as our defense can work together to disrupt their opponents' offenses, force turnovers, and help us to win games.

With good news there comes bad news.

Re: Jason Hatcher removed from PUP list
Grudens reaction in the press conference to Hall being carted off- Hall could have walked off but by being carted off he made Grudens meeting with the media much more interesting. Excellent response.

Re: Jason Hatcher removed from PUP list
It'll be interesting to see what Hatcher will be like in a new system in a new town on the wrong side of 30 for the NFL.
He could give our D real teeth if he has a big year.

Re: Jason Hatcher removed from PUP list
I think Hatcher just adds some stoutness. I doubt he will have any standout stats, but hopefully our D Line won't be a sieve.

Re: Jason Hatcher removed from PUP list
Yup. He doesn't need big numbers. If he's drawing enough blocking that Rak tears it up, that's cool.

Re: Jason Hatcher removed from PUP list
Exactly, you can't double everybody...Rak, Kerrigan or somebody will get free. Hopefully will have good effect on our secondary as well

Re: Jason Hatcher removed from PUP list
Great news! And great way to describe what he brings, stoutness. I spent some time at camp watching him run some drills. For a 6'6" 300lbs dude he can move. And his explosiveness off the ball was very impressive. I really hope this is the year we finally start to pile up some sack totals.

Re: Jason Hatcher removed from PUP list
Saw Hatcher doing solo drills during camp. He's HUGE! Friggin' beast. Great pickup. Glad to know he's healthy! Let's GO SKINS!

Re: Jason Hatcher removed from PUP list
the hatcher signing reminds me of the cornelius griffin signing.
big DL guy from a NFC east rival, somewhat older but should still have 2-3 years of productivity ahead of him. i liked what griffin did for us. not flashy (few Dl are), but playing at a level just below pro bowl and anchored our DL for a few years. that is my expectation for hatcher, which i think he should have a higher ceiling and exceed. |

Re: Jason Hatcher removed from PUP list
Glad he's back.
Not the biggest fan of signing a 32 year-old defensive lineman for so much money, but the team did a nice job of keeping the contract manageable. And as long as Hatcher's healthy, he should be able to help for a couple of seasons at least. I'm expecting about 8 sacks from him this year. Plus, the Kerrigan-Murphy-Hatcher-Orakpo lineup on 3rd downs should be entertaining. |

Re: Jason Hatcher removed from PUP list
Let's see if that knee holds up when the season starts. This looks like a boom or bust signing.
