well 0-2, It's a big difference than last year for this team so far, can they turn it around???

Will our d be historically bad?

Not so much the D but the offense is historically bad.

If the offense could get rolling I think if we didn't win games, they'd at least be competitive.

For the life of me, I don't understand why they've got the handcuffs on RG3. He's a terrible pocket passer and when he is paying attention to the pocket, he looks constantly paranoid. They need to be using rollouts, bootlegs and for the love of God, get rid of that horrible toss play and use the read option.

No defense is going to play well when the opposing teams controls the time of possession for three quarters.

I wonder why RG3 doesn't look like the guy who won OROY?

I don't think it's the Shanahan's fault, unless you blame them for listening to their QB and others. In which case they may be damned if they do, same if they don't.

I actually don't think Robert is a horrible pocket passer but it definitely looks as if he won't be running much this season

Re: Skins vs Packers post game thread

Only about 11 percent of teams that have started 0-2 have made the playoffs. Of course two of those teams were the 07 giants and the 01 pats and both of those teams won the Super Bowl.

There is a lot to still figure out for the Redskins to even contend for a playoff spot. Shanahan cannot go 4-12 or 5-11 and expect to keep his job. He needs to at least be in it until the end. Luckily the NFC East isn't the greatest conference in the NFL so the Skins should be in it until the end.

The league fined us for being coy about injuries before. If he's still hurt, the Shannys and others should get hit up.

So is RG3 100% physically, or not?

I think the defense is historically bad, when a 5 - 10 yard reception turns into 15 or more yards. It's because the tackling is historically bad.

Re: Skins vs Packers post game thread

I dont think rg3 is 100%it ... i dont at all... i also will blame poor play calling on BOTH sides of the ball.. we got lucky it wasnt 31-0fine at halftime with a effing 7 yd cushion on a 3rdT and goal from the 9!!!!! Etf?? Plenty of drops, poor coverage not looking AT THE BALL AT ALL... secondary is a MAJOR achilles heel here... they couldn't cover a bed as housekeepers.n. f*ck... ee got beat uo amd down the field all day... defense was PITIFULL after the 1stend quarter and i blame playcalling just as.much as the players ... smfh I'm embarrassed after this loss... flat out embarrassed

They started out good though. We had them held for their first, what.. 2 or 3 series? But after 2 horrible punts and 3 and outs, this defense isn't good enough to keep holding them all game.

Our defense is like a... C/C+ type of team. Our front and line backers are decent and our secondary is drop dead terrible.

To balance that out your offense has got to be no less than a B- and we're playing a D level right now. They're putting an awful lot of pressure on our defense with no let up. The D can only keep it close but for so long.

Re: Skins vs Packers post game thread

Just drives me CRAZY how many team highs/career highs are set against the Skins. Arggggggh. NOW, the silver lining is that both Eagles/Cowboys lost (and hopefully the Giants). If we can get some rhythm next week and get a win, then I'll feel a lot more positive. More of the same next week and I can't even comprehend how we went from this good to this bad.

Re: Skins vs Packers post game thread

This team has many problems.

Alf's rookie magic has worn off.

RG3 is being limited. Sadly, we need that Read Option and RG3 running it to go back to being a good offense. Teams know, worry about Morris, then on passing downs, just play pass and don't worry about RG3 running it.

----

Defensively, we got shreded today by the best QB in the NFL. Cobb killed us like I thought he would, but I was thinking Amerson would hold up better against Jordy Nelson, Ditto for DHall on James Jones. I was wrong about that. This team is doing piss poor at maintaining and staying in their gaps. Too many DLineman are getting pushed around by 'good' and bad Offensive Lines.

The tackling is also a Major issue. I understand giving long wrongs to LeSean McCoy, because he's shifty and elusive as hell. But James STARKS?!? He looked like Adrian Peterson today.

London Fletcher; I've loved having him on our team for the past 6 seasons, but it should have ended there. London is lost. London is gone. London just disappears. I used to hear his name all the time. I heard his name once today and it was after a big run. That Finley TD, that was London. Last year it was London getting beat by TE's in the passing game. This year its London getting man handled by OLineman, missing tackles, getting beat in coverage by more than just TE's. Translation, he's done. London was thinking really hard this past offseason about retiring and came back. He should have retired, because I'd rather have a young MLB back their making mistakes and learning than an old Vet who is getting owned throughout the game.

I will say this though about the defense. As horrible and not top 10 looking as they are, they still would give us times throughout the game for our offense to go out there and score. Problem is that the offense goes 3 and out and our defense, already tired and gased, has to go out and get beaten up for another score. Last year our defense was making stops and our offense was moving and working the clock. Not this year. And this team and this season will not do anything until the offense gets going (and I'm talking about early in a game, not garbage time).

Re: Skins vs Packers post game thread

D played great until that 4th down completion for a TD. That just CRUSHED our momentum/confidence. After that, we sacked Rogers MAYBE 1-2 more times the rest of the game?
