High amount of LB traffic
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...2004Mar11.html
so we've offered a deal to greg favors, might offer micheal barrow a contract around 2 mil a year, short just finished his 2 day visit, and warrick holdman is coming in for a visit. If definitely getting the vibe that we r going to be running a lot of 3-4 formations this year with all of these LBs coming in, but yet no more d-linemen unless the FO is waiting for the June 1st cutdate to handle those. out of these I'd prefer the signing of short and barrow. I mean even though slightly old, barrow had 177 tackles last year. thats pretty darn good in my book especially since, like the article says, the g-men's d-line wasn't very good last year. |

apparently the Skins FO didn't think Cornelius Griffen was responsible for the Giants poor D-Line

Y'all may be right!
Y'all may be right! I had said no to the 3-4. But the 3-4 is definitely possible and now probable. I'm eating crow, early I'll admit!
I hate crow! But I can get it down easier now before the season. I'll have it with a Diet Vanilla Pepsi!

We need our talent on the feild, bottom line. A 3-4 D is the best way to do that. It proboly owuld have been the best way last year too, but I dont even know if your coaching staff knows what a 3-4 is.

My guess is that if the Skins sign Barrow, Trotter is gone after June 1. Between the two, the expected production is equal, and Barrow will be much cheaper.

I think Trotter could thrive in an aggressive setting. Let him blitz and crush the backfield. I want to give him one more year to prove himself!

Cutting Trotter after June 1st will simply push his cap hit to 2005, when the money is expected to be pretty tight against the cap anyway, in addition to the fact that the Skins will be trying to re-sign Fred Smoot (hopefully). I don't want to see Smoot let go simply because the Skins were impatient with Trotter. Trotter is still a fairly young guy, and he could make tremendous improvements under Williams' guidance. |
