Thanksgiving - Woodson Out for 'Boys for Season, Maybe Career?
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200....ap/index.html
I don't ever wish serious injury on anyone, but I'm not going to cry if Darren Woodson, a five-time Pro-Bowler, never plays another down for the Cowboys. I'm also somewhat joyful that Terrance Newman is looking less and less like a top 5 draft pick corner. Let us be thankful. |

Why does every "Thank god he's hurt!" thread start with "I never wish serious injury on anybody but..."
I'll say it. Good. Finally another team has some of their most important players go down. Especially a Cowboy. We're all guilty of cracking a smile when you see a rival team's QB in pain after a devestating hit from one of your defensive players, and we're all devestated when it's one of our guys. It's a big part of the game we love, we can get rid of our violent tendencies through the players! |

No, I seriously don't wish a serious injury on anyone. It's the guy's total life and career. It's got to be devastating for a guy. So, I don't wish a serious injury on anyone (not including terrorist asswipes), even if they are a Cowboy.

By serious injury, I don't consider career ending. I consider game/season ending. I see that as serious. I understand not wanting his life ruined.
But in your post you also said you hope he never plays another down of football. |

I'm with Ramseyfan. I'm not sad to see one of their star players go down, but if it ends his career, thats pretty sad. Think of , if you ever played H.S. football, how sad it was when it was all over. This guy has been doing it for 3 times as long.

Basically, I'm glad we won't have to face him but simultaneously feel sorry for him if this injury signals the end of his career. |

And, it is the absence of Woodson from the Dallas secondary that has exposed Newman's coverage weaknesses. When Woodson was there, Newman got more help.

sounds like woodson may be an FA-IR gamble (like fiore) this offseason... kinda doubt dallas will carry him for 4.3mill if he can't play for an entire year, and then only have 1 year (and nearly 7mill more) until a new contract...
