Maiden Voyage to Fed-Ex
Skins Fans -
I'm a mis-placed skins fan from the SF Bay Area and I'll be coming to DC to see the Giants game. I'll be staying in Northern VA and have the choice of taking a Bar Bus or the Metro. Any advise? Warnings? This will be my first time at Fed-Ex but not my first time in on the Beltway. |

Advice: Don't take the bus or the Metro for that matter. You're better off finding a ride. If you get a ride, make sure you get a parking pass. You still have time to get one. Most sites that sell tickets have parking passes, and then theres always Ebay. Are you going by yourself?
Warnings: TRAFFIC! Leave early! The game is at 4:05 and you're coming from Northern VA, so I suggest leave NOVA no later than 2:30. What part of NOVA are you coming from? |

traffic can be BAD... not NY/LA bad, but damned close... just make sure you're there early, and prepare for traffic both ways...

Thanks for the information. I'll be in Alexandria and my plan was to jump on the BLUE line at 1pm, take the shuttle and be at Fed-Ex by 2:45 - 3:00. I'm not renting a car because access to Alexandria from Dulles is good, and I'm coming in only for the game.

If you can be at FedEx by 2:45 then you should be fine.

I would suggest you be there before 2:45 - the tailgate is the only part of the experience you can count on making you happy.
I'll be there - at noon. Quite possibly drunk.

if someone is going to be there with a tailgate, why not invite HTTR9?
the skins should absolutely not lose that one, but it'd be nice to give some good memories besides the game... just in case. |

I've driven several times and taken Metro several times. Taking the Metro is MUCH easier and not nearly as bad as people say. Last game I went to, I was back at the station 30 mins after the game ended.
