Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?

Simple yes or no.

No caveats. No "only as a backup" No "only get rid of him if we can get at least a 2nd rounder back" No "what are the cap implications"

None of that. Do you want Jason Campbell on the Redskins in 2010.

Yes or no?

I've come to the conclusion that my answer is no. I like Campbell and think he can be very good one day. But I want great, and I'm no longer convinced he can be.

And of course I mean the 2010 season...before any of you respond with "I want him back for Jan. 3, 2010 and then not anymore"

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?

I voted yes. I'll take good over "maybe great but probably not much better than JC". I just don't think there are a whole slew of better QBs in the league right now anyways. I don't see what the point of picking a guy like Clausen or Bradford is when history shows at least one of them won't be as good and the other may only be somewhat better. It isn't terribly likely that either is great.. Great QBs like Manning/Brady/Brees/Rivers come every few years out of what like 12-13 QBS taken in the first round? Not good odds. I just don't like the risk/time requirement needed isn't worth it when we have a guy that can be a winner. And I don't like that we can't really tell how good he is since he is constantly getting pounded.

Yes.

I think he's a guy you can win games with given good protection and a running game.

That said, whatever the decision is from the new regime, I'll live with it.

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?

After the first half of the year I was no. But seeing what free agents and possible QB vets play this year, its really no question JC is the best availible option next year. Draft a young guy and get rid of Collins and let him develop behind JC. Build the Oline before putting a rookie back there to get killed.

No only because Jason has had multiple chances to prove himself and has never done it. He's an avg qb and this team is rebuilding anyway. Plus he won't fit in shanahans offense, you need a quick release and quick feet he has neither

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?

No. I think its time to move on and start from scratch. Plus, who knows if Campbell can be any better than he already is. I think he may have already hit his ceiling as a player and thats basically a middle of the pack QB. I think we can find that either thru the draft or free agency or trade.

I do respect Campbell alot and I hope he can succeed in this league. I just don't think it will happen here.

No. I dont think the Skins should saddle themselves with more years of JC simply out of fear that who they draft wont be great. The potential reward with a new QB far outweighs sticking with an inadequate JC.

Ditto to Matty and FRPLG.

He is a proven commodity that can win games if he has blocking and a running game. He is not the truth but he is no Joey Harrington either.

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?

I'd just love to give him one season with decent pass protection and an adequate running game. At least we could know whether he can be a championship QB. I certainly have doubts but I have more confidence that he can be a winner than not.

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?

Yes I want to see him compete with a solid O-line. He deserves a chance in a stable system. He has been sacked what 42 times this season?? And yes some of those sacks are his fault but most are not. No one can tell me that Jimmy Clausen or Bradford or any young QB is going to come in with this O-line and be successful I don't believe it. I do not think JC is great but I think he can win ball games if given time. He is also tough as nails, I don't see a lot of QB's around the leauge taking the hurting that other teams are putting on him.

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?

He can only win games win the players around him are playing 100% lights out. We need somebody who can be the winning factor when everything else isn't going so great, and that's not Jason.

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?

Yes. Even if we draft another QB for the future, we still need someone like Campbell who can make plays for us. Like I said earlier in the season, behind a solid offensive line, Jason Campbell can be a great QB.

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?

I voted No and its because I don't think he can read the D and has trouble finding the open man and that even when he has time. He never hits a WR comeing out of their break but waits to see if they can get wide open and never hits that window. I cannot remember the last time he threw a ball up so only our guy could make the play instead it sails over everyones head or bounces of the ground. He is tough and has heart but that does not always make a good/great NFL QB.
