The rest of the 2009 season

We have the Giants, Cowboys and Chargers left, 3 teams over .500 and playoff contenders. I feel like the skins will spoil someones playoff hopes and win the their 3 remaining games, this hopefully will have the FO reconsider keeping Zorn and Campbell and concentrating on rebuilding the OL in the off season. What are the chances of both Zorn and Campbell coming back if they win out?

Re: The rest of the 2009 season

Giants are working hard to spoil their own playoff hopes before we can get to them.

Right now, neither the Giants or the Cowboys are a good bet to win another game this year, it appears, so we could be looking at only one playoff team from the NFC East in the postseason, and that's the Eagles. Of course, they have to give the 6th seed to someone, so I guess the Giants and Cowboys can play for that spot by trying to win another game.

I would love to put a nail in their coffin next Monday night.

Zorn should not come back. I can't imagine that he has had a lot to do with our improvement.

You can't dismiss the work that he's put in with Jason Campbell

You're right. Let's bring him back as the Quarterbacks Coach.

Zorn said it would take 2 years for this offense to be good. Looks like he was about right to me.

I would hate to see what this offense would look like if he was still calling the plays.

Looks like Thomas Boswell had the same thoughts.

Thomas Boswell - Redskins get a complete effort, and a win, from the - washingtonpost.com

Re: The rest of the 2009 season

Remember we always seem to play either up or down to the level of competition. The Giants are always a tough out for us, but the way we've been playing lately we have more than a 50% chance against them.

We "will" win when the Boys come to town without a doubt. The last game in SD will be tough, right now they're playing as well as anyone in the league. All those 6ft. plus pass catchers they have cause so many mis-matches for DB's.

Win vs. NJ and Dallas, loss to SD.

True..but he did install this offense, and it's looking better all the time. A lot of HC's don't call the plays.

Zorn has just as much of a chance of being the head coach of any NFL team next year as I do.

Re: The rest of the 2009 season

The Giants are eminently beatable. Same goes for the Cowboys. And by the final week, the game may be meaningless to San Diego. The Redskins ought to be able to take all three of these games down to the latter parts of the 4th quarter with the outcome in doubt.

Interestingly, the Redskins are playing harder and hustling a whole lot more when their "high priced talent" is not on the field. I have my own hypothesis about why that is the case, but it is only a hypothesis so I'll keep it to myself. But I don't think there is much argument agaist the observation that this team is now playing harder and hustling more AS A TEAM.

Here is one MINOR problem if the Redskins actually do win out. That would give them a 4 game win streak to end the season along with 3 very close losses just before that. That COULD be taken to mean - - by Danny Boy - - that the Redskins are "just one player away from Super Bowl contention" and that could put him out there on the free agent market looking for one or two high priced additions...

We've seen that movie before and we know how it ends. It would be nice to see the Redskins win out - - so long as Danny Boy does not go all "starry-eyed" on us.
