Re: Obama does it again.

Definitely not the most pressing bit of news, but I will admit I'm not wild about the fact that after over 200 yrs of our nation's leaders purposefully not showing deference to another head of state, Obama has taken it upon himself to change things. Sometimes... it just seems like he's making it up as he goes along, without a full understanding of the consequence.

Re: Obama does it again.

No US President, Democrat or Republican, has ever bowed to a head of state from another nation. Until now. Funny how such an arrogant administration chooses it's moments of "humility."

Bowing is tradition in Japan . Someone should explain how to properly bow , you look into the eyes of the other person not the ground . Bowing to the Saudi prince , however was just plain ugly .

Re: Obama does it again.

The level of certainity of the "fact" that a U.S. president has never bowed to another head of state is astounding. Sometimes one has to wonder if cognitively you lot are all there.

This is a picture of Ike, a great American and president by all account, bowing to president Charles De Gaulle of France.

...I know, you done got made to feel stupid.

I agree. Nothing wrong with showing respect. But if you're gonna do it, make sure you're doing it right.

Re: Obama does it again.

Trample,
It's ok. Most presidents in our lifetime have performed similar actions.
It is a shame that we as Americans don't seem to know that.

But this is a sports fan site, not a political forum, so.......
