Despite win Campbell must go !!!!
Jason Campbell once again played terrible. The receivers/tight ends bailed him out on a few throws (Cooley comes to mind). 18 for 33 is pitifull. Yeah it was windy but thats no excuse. Mcnabb was right on point with his passes. DeSean Jackson drop 2 easy td's. Those were 35 to 40 yarders into the wind and they hit Jackson between the numbers. Campbell missed on easy dink and dunks passes. Our offenses as a whole sucked, I will admit but Campbell took the crown. On the bright side D Hall looked really good.

JC didn't have a good game. He's not going anywhere unless Zorn flips the switch. Now that Zorn is almost guaranteed to keep is post I again can say I feel totally confident about the QB situation. An old QB who has all the experience in the world as a QB coach - Zorn knows exactly what he wants behind center.

Many times it's like the defenses run our routes for us or know exactly what run or pass play is coming. We hardly EVER throw down field, so defense stay in the short-mid range now and are constantly around the ball. One thing I haven't noticed is any kind of audibles coming from Campbell, especially when it's clear the defense is sending two extra blitzers from one side and we don't give any help at all. Is that on him or does he (Zorn) not have an audible system to use? With that said, he HAS been erratic ,many times this season (I went to the Browns game and he missed plenty of receivers that day I remember)... but again, is he getting jittery back there due to the constant pressure? I don't think we can truly say. I do know that either he or Zorn IS to blame for this horrific offense.

In a word, shaddup! What did JC do or not do in your eyes? Against that defense, with 2 backup tackles and Portis spending 45% of the time on the sidelines he did what he needed to do to win the game. Moronic fans like you give me a headache.

Re: Despite win Campbell must go !!!!
Campbell lacks leadership. I keep hearing that our three 2nd round draft picks have not panned out but how are they supposed to show their skills if they are not getting the ball. It seems as if Campbell has trouble reading more than two receivers. The rookies ususally come in as the 3 and 4 receivers. Basically Campbell can't get them the ball. I also think those drive saving runs came out of desperation, he has trouble reading receivers.

I think JC had a sub-par game, but I agree that a lot of our woes (e.g., inability to run or pass protect for 3 or more seconds) had to do with Fabini and Heyer. That said, please avoid personal attacks.

Re: Despite win Campbell must go !!!!
JC strikes me as a QB who can lead a potent offense when given time and a mediocre one when the line is struggling. He's not a guy who will consistently make big plays, but he's capable of putting the ball in a playmaker's hands when he isn't lying on his back. In that sense, he strikes me as an Eli Manning-type QB.

I do not like JC. How about a guy like Matt Cassel. FA at the end of the year.

Re: Despite win Campbell must go !!!!
How about getting an offensive line that can actually block people? With our current line, it isn't going to matter who we have behind center. Besides, if we're going to pay a QB a $20M signing bonus (which is likely what Cassel will command), I'd prefer to pay a proven winner, not a guy who inherited a Super Bowl team and played well for 1 season Derek Anderson-style.

First off WATCH YOUR MOUTH. A moronic fan!! You don't know me and do not disrespect me. My view on Campbell is my ****ing opinion. Lets see what did or didn't Campbell do in my eyes............for one when your going to throw the ball away make sure it goes out of bounds. Samuels drop a easy pick six. Oh yeah , slide before you get hit. He got ****ing rocked by Dawkins. Dude listen I want and Campbell to do great but hes just O.K. at best. He'll never be a Drew or a Peyton.

Re: Despite win Campbell must go !!!!
Troy Aikman said it perfectly when he said JC looks nonchalant (sp) or tends to play nonchalant. Translation: he needs to be more aware of pressure and get rid of the ball or slide up in the pocket.
I want to give JC another year to prove or disprove himself. However, i don't see him as our long term answer at QB. Pretty good QB when all things are good, but when we're missing anything he's average to below. There's seldom a time w/ any team that you're going to have all day to throw to open WR's and at the same time have your running game going. It happens just not every week. So, he deserves another year, but from what I've seen to date...not to sure. |

Re: Despite win Campbell must go !!!!
Do you really think Matt Cassel is that much better than Campbell? He's playing with a 3-time Superbowl winning coach, in the same system that produced the best season by a QB ever last year, and with possibly the best receiver of all-time. Campbell has 1st-round pick talent(Matt Cassel didn't have enough talent to get in the starting lineup of a team since high school), but he has never had a consistent system or coach, and it seems like he's really limited by the coaching and gameplan. It seems like his entire career he's been taught to lock on to the #1 or throw a checkdown. Look at the offense he was in led by Mark Brunell when he came in in to the league, remember how pissed off everyone was when he was dumping the ball off for 2 yards everyplay?
