OK so ive been on hold with direct tv for forever, and they keep having NFL players make little stupid comments. Brunell was one of them so I thought id share.

Anyoen know if you can canel NFL Sunday Ticket before the year is up? I really want it but am selling my house and dont want to pay all that money and not get it for the whole season

I know for a fact that you CANT cancel it. I remeber talking about that with the guy when he came to do our dish. Not that I'd want too, but unless they have monthly plans, i think its all or nothing.

Why not just get Directv in the new house? Your package will travel with you.. I am also selling my house but have no plans to miss a game.. It would be sweet to move on the bye week!!

Unless you're in a local market you can't count on any games being shown. Networks make decisions on showing regional and national games during the season to show the most intriguing games. Generally you can find out in the week heading up to the game though so you can make plans to hit a bar if the Skins aren't on.

Being in an AFC market will mean all of your NFC national games will be shown as well as a regional when Fox has the doubleheader.

Hopefully we'll be rocking and rolling this year so we can get more national games.

I can explain the TV schedule in more detail if needed.

so since im in Miami, they are going to play AFC Games? The skins game this satruday is on fox, the dolphins game is on cbs. So im hoping that since we play a flordia team that the game will be one here. Are you telling me that it wont be because its not an AFC game?

No.
Here is a quick primer on how this works.
CBS- AFC games only.
FOX- NFC games only.

Mixed games(AFC V NFC) the game will be on the network opposite of the normal network for the home team. If Washington plays the Dolphins in Washignton then the game will be on CBS.(Since the home team Washington is an NFC team). Don't ask me to explain the reasoning behind this rule?

Every Sunday there are three games televised as mandated by the TV contract. Never more and never less.

One channel gets two games(double header) and the other gets one. The double header rotates through the year.

So now you have two situations that determine what games you see - if you are a local area of an NFL team or not.

If you are not a local area like say Omaha Nebraska. You will get two "national" games (games broadcast over the entire network for all to see, one on each network) and one regional game (the second game of the double header on which ever network). The national game is decided in the weeks heading up to the game to ensure the network gets the most watchable game. The regional game for Nebraska I would assume is something like one of the Ohio teams.

Everything changes if you are a local area like Miami. I will use this weekend to figure out if you have a chance to see the game. Fox has the double header so they'll show a national game and aregional game while cbs will just show the Miami game. I have no idea what the national game is on Fox but I am betting that it is not Gianst V Eagles(which is on the schedule here at 4) So I am guessing the 1:00 game is the national game. Since The skins play at 1 we in the NoVa area get that as our local area game but I would bet it is also the national game which means you most likely will be able to see it.

Confusing?? I think so too.

Sorry for the excrutiating detail butI had to tpy eit all otu to make any sense at all.

Canes-

I'm over in Tampa and what I use to do (before I got Direct TV) was call the local tv stations to find out what games they were showing. They had a recording of what games they were gonna show that day and I knew i had a chance to catch the Skins if the Bucs weren't gonna be playing at the same time that day. So you may want to try calling fox in Miami.

no,once you have made the first monthly payment you can't cancel.i could pick up the redskin games without it but i still get it because it shows every game in the league.most of the double header games they show around here stink.

There are four nationally televised games this year, everything else is just gravy. As far as cancelling, when I signed up they said that when I move all I have to do is give them a call and they will install a new dish and system for free (at that time) and move your account over. The catch is that they sometimes automatically sign you up for next season so make sure if you don't want it again that you tell them. I'm moving back to DC next summer and will be able to watch the games for free but I might keep the package just to see ALL the games.

That is what happened to me I ordered moved two monthes into the season (about October) and them move my system for me but I had to sign a contract saying I was going to have direct TV for one more year, but what I did not know was they signed me up for the next year with sunday ticket. I get the redskins games every week so I really dont need it. So be careful of that.
