Good question. If I had to put two and two together, I'd say he's more likely to support a Democrat. Diamond recently revealed his song, "Sweet Caroline" was written for JFK's, Caroline Kennedy. Dude might like Bob Barr for all I know.

I have to say I saw him in concert when I was in my 20's. I saw him on a Sturday night and then saw Kiss the following Friday night. There was a very slight noticable difference in the two crowds.
