Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Week 2)
Well it should go to a lot of you here for writing off Campbell, Zorn and the Redskins after week one. But that's ok, I ain't mad at ya.
Ok, here goes Special Teams Of course, I'm talking about Randle El and Brooks. Listen, Antwaan we all know you're not getting paid the big bucks to be our #1 receiver. You're getting paid because you've shown you can be a playmaker and quite simply most of those have to come from your role as a punt returner. You're making big plays...but for the wrong team. Earn that money. Durant, I know you're only a rookie. But you were drafted, and punters don't usually get drafted. So the expectations are higher. Maybe you think it's not fair, but you earned it with your play in college. Now deal with it and prove that it was worth it to draft you. 3rd Down Offense 3/13 in Week One. 3/11 this week. That simply has to improve. Santana Moss Wait, what? Santana Moss? But he just had a huge game. I know. Now bring it again next week, and the week after, and the week after. When you're good, you're very good. In fact, you're one of the best. So bring it every week.

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Week 2)
Brooks play was a swing of 10 points (horrible hold loses 3 and terrible punt is returned for a TD). Add to it his other bad punt and I'm hoping it is his worst day as a pro, ever.

What about the special teams for giving up the TD, I mean Brooks f'ed up, but they needed to stop Bush too.

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Week 2)
3rd down offense. See SS's post.
Red zone offense. In the first half, the Redskins offense possessed the ball five times and drove the ball into the red zone four times, but only managed to rack up 9 points on 3 field goals. Failing to come away with at least 1 TD in one of those 4 red zone drives was maddening. I hope Zorn use our big targets more often in the red zone. Allow Moss and ARE to stretch the field and, after we've run out of room (i.e., in the red zone) get our tall and talented youngsters in there (i.e., Cooley, Davis, and Kelly). The fans. I was watching the game at a bar, so I couldn't hear the crowd noise, but it looked like 20% of the seats in the stadium were empty. People who have tickets, but don't show up to the season home opener should have their seats confiscated. |

Good call on the red zone offense. I meant to add that one

Clock Management and Personnel Issues in the 1st half. Using all 3 times out before the end of the 1st quarter, including 1 on defense is inexcusable. I also think the 2 offensive TOs had a hand in killing some of the scoring momentum, settling for FG attempts instead of TDs.

WE need to come together as a redskins nation again...rise up and dominate the way it used to be. WE need to give our unwavering support and homefield advantage.

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Week 2)
I wasn't at this game but have been at games in the past in extreme heat. I understand not wanting to let people bring in drinks but would it really break Snyder to allow people to bring in coolers and have them filled w/ tap water and ice for a buck? No, he wouldn't make much on it but it would be nice to see a full stadium and not just a full parking lot.
Would that count as a smackdown on Snyder?

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Week 2)
I was at the game yesterday and I can understand some fans not showing up. It was absolutely brutal out there like Gmanc said and at one point in the second quarter when the fans were being extremely loud while we were on defense my headache increased and I felt a huge wave of dizziness and for like a second my eyesight was gone and I had no clue what was happening, then when it went quiet I was able to regain focus again (go figure, I drank like one bottle of water before that), but after that I shelled out about 30 bucks worth for bottled water and soda. I used two bottles of water just to pour on my head cuz I was sweating like a mofo. I had no clue it was gonna be that hot, I mean I wore shorts and I had on a white t-shirt underneath my authentic Cooley jersey in white but I was still extremely hot, I got sunburned up and down my arms/hands too.

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Week 2)
What's up with hearing Deuuuuuuuce when McCallister gets the ball? Maybe people were booing the handoff (I doubt it) but that's inexcusable. How many N.O. fans were there?
