Justin Smith
He is a UFA, correct? I know there are a million of these type threads going but, I feel this needs to be addressed. The guy is a monster, plays fast and hard and I would love to see him in burgundy and gold.
Any thoughts?

Re: Justin Smith
You tryin' to impress me? Think you can bribe your way into my good favors by starting a thread about Justin Smith?
I'd love him here, but it's not likely

Hahaha...maybe, maybe. At least this way I know this thread wont be locked unless it gets hijacked. As unlikely as it is, I'm just saying that I would love to see us go out and at least try and get him, that is, if he hasnt already signed with someone before I posted this, which is likely as well. We just need a good DE and I would give a pinky finger to have him here. I might go and trade for him in my Madden Franchise just to keep my hopes alive. lol

Re: Justin Smith
Ha, my bad. I saw it go across the bottom line- it's Justin SMILEY who the Phins signed to a 5 year deal. At first glance it looked like Justin Smith. So no, it's not true. Sorry.

Re: Justin Smith
Probably too pricey for our taste this year. The guy is a baller though.

Re: Justin Smith
He's very durable- he's started all 16 games every year since 2002, but is he really that great?? His sack totals the past 4 seasons: 2, 7.5, 6, 8. 2 sacks last year in 16 starts?? Chris Wilson doubled that number last year and didn't start a single game. I don't know if I'd call Justin Smith a "baller."

Re: Justin Smith
Smith is a complete defensive lineman, he's not a one-dimensional pass rushing specialist. That's not a knock on Wilson by any means. Just that Smith can do so many things well.

I'm reading the Vikes are actively pursuing both him and Berrian.

Could you imagine the Vikings adding Smith and Madieu Williams. And then possibly trading for Rosenfels and signing Berrian? Not bad.

Re: Justin Smith
I know! That d-line is already nasty. Unfortunately Udeze has leukemia, so they need another end, and Smith would fit in nicely. If they can add a wideout who can catch and a half decent QB, imagine what Adrian Peterson could do? They played very well in the second half last year and I expect a dog fight between them and GB for that division.

Re: Justin Smith
He's due to come to SF for his first visit. He informed the Vikings the 49ers where first on the list. I read it somewhere, can't remember link.
