Re: Zorn wants Collins back
i would think it would be between the skins and the rams, as a backup. i don't see any team offering him the starting job.

Brunell's contract isn't going to be better than Dilfer's.

Every time Dilfers' name is mentioned I'm reminded of just how close we were to drafting him the year Mr. Shuler came to Washington. We could very well bring Collins back, and also make a play for Dilfer to help both QB's get famaliar with the different system. |

Re: Zorn wants Collins back
Neither them is going to be under contract with the Redskins when free agency opens, so this point is moot.

Re: Zorn wants Collins back
I'd like to see Brunell backing up Jason Campbell next year. I know there are alot of Brunell-haters on this board, but everyone must keep in mind the guy just wasn't healthy the late 05 season and entire 06 season and plus he's a class act. Collins, on the other hand, played great this past year under an offense he's learned inside out. I hate to be a doubter or anything, but I honestly believe that's why he performed so well this year. So in my own opinion, I think it would be best for Collins to depart to St. Louis instead of bothering to learn a new offense in which he may play mediocre at best under.

Re: Zorn wants Collins back
Do you guys really think Collins can be effective in a new offense cuz i sure dont. he has been in saunders offense for like 6 years or something like that.

Collins is a veteran QB with a lot of time in the league. There's not much he hasn't seen already. I wouldn't anticipate the offense being something too difficult for him to pick up. I hope nothing happens to Jason this year, but Collins demonstrated he can be serviceable for a short period, his accuracy in the short passing game could prove to be an asset. I just don't think he's a starting caliber QB. |

Re: Zorn wants Collins back
Dilfer would be nothing more than a #3/emergency type of QB for us. He would be a solid addition for his knowledge of the offense.
