Trip
Hi Guys,
I come from Scotland UK and I will be going to watch my first game in Washington when the skins play the cowboys in December. I would appreciate it if you guys could help me with some concerns that I have. Can you recommend a hotel that will be easy to commute to and from Dulles airport and Fedex Field (I have been told to try the Washington Plaza, does anyone know anything about the hotel?? and can I commute easily to and from) The other issue that I have is that I could fly home on the first of January, will there be transport for me to get to the airport, i.e. cab, metro or bus. Now here comes the tricky question, "tickets" I have been looking at some websites (what website would you recommend to buy from) for tickets and they say that some of the seats have restricted viewing, how bad is the view? The area I was looking at was section 218/219 lower level sideline. All information is greatly appreciated Thanks Hoggie |

Re: Trip
the washington plaza is in downtown DC. so you could take the metro from there to fedex field. also Dulles airport isnt that close to the hotel either so you will probably pay alot for a cab ride there. unless the hotel has a shuttle that picks people up at dulles airport. which i highly doubt but you never know. also you have to be careful on the partially obstructed view seats. because some arent so bad but others you cant see anything at all. the dallas game tickets are going to be expensive as hell. but its the last game of this season which could be good or bad thing for getting tickets. u could wait to get tickets to see if the price falls if we are having a bad year or if u wait and we have good season the tickets will be harder to find and more expensive than now.

Re: Trip
The closest Airport to fly into is Regan National. If you have to fly into Dulles or BWI. BWI would be a little closer, but Dulles is faster depending on the time of day. As far as hotels, it is cheaper to find something outside of the district, and better to find something closer the airport that you are flying into. If you fly into Dulles it would provide for the best transportation accomodations to and from the airport and stadium. Cab and metro are both available from there. As far as the view, buy what you can afford. When they say limited visibility they are talking about the distance from the field. The higher you are, the further away you are from the field. If you have been to any sporting event you understand that. If you google tickets at FEDEX Field then you will be able to see what the seating arrangements are for each level.
If it were me, I would fly into Dulles, rent a Hotel in Tysons, and take the Metro to the Stadium. But that is just me though. |

Re: Trip
no when the tickets say partially obstructed those arent the upper deck seats. section 218/219 are lower level and some seats have pillars in the way of seeing the field. but u are right that is probably the best plan for where to fly into and stay.

Re: Trip
Guys chill out.. I apologies if I've upset some off you, but I thought I was on the right forum to get some info on going to a game. It's not very often that some of us back in the UK get a chance to go and see a team that you have supported for 20 odd years and only get to watch highlight on tv.

Re: Trip
Welcome to the Board.
If you are here for any length of time you should stay close to D.C so you can do other fun things. If you are in and out for the game, it is probably cheaper to stay by the airport than it is to stay near the stadium. Keep in mind that FedEx is a good 90 minutes from Dulles on a gameday. Have a great trip and again, Welcome!
