Fantasy Football Keeper League Question
Guys, I need some help,
I am in a 10 team Keeper league this year where I can keep 2 players from last year's team. I am Keeping Clinton Portis (which cost me my 2nd round pick) and I need to choose between A. Boldin at WR or Warrick Dunn at RB as my 2nd keeper. Both guys will cost me a 6th round pick. The scoring in our league is fairly simple. No points for receptions, but 1 point for every 10 yards rushing or receiving and 6 points for each TD. Who would you keep? Boldin or Dunn? |

Re: Fantasy Football Keeper League Question
That Guy, I know you are somewhat of an expert on these things, so here is my 2nd question. I won my 10 team league last year, so I have the 10th and last pick in the 1st round this year. My 1st pick in the 2nd round is my Keeper, Portis. Who should I expect to be avaialbe and go after with that 10 pick in the 1st round.

Re: Fantasy Football Keeper League Question
depends on whos being kept and what the rules are... it'd be around #30 in a normal draft, so plenty of good starters will be left. I'd look for a 2nd RB if you start 2 each week, unless a WR/QB like smith or manning are left sitting around for some reason.

Re: Fantasy Football Keeper League Question
QB T Brady, C Palmer
RB J. Jones, D. Davis, W Mcgahee, W Parker, R Bush WR H. Ward, R. Moss, C Chambers, S Moss TE A. Gates JJ is a much better pick than Davis (who's just waiting to get injured again) or Mcgahee (no OL or QB). Those are guys around #30 in the draft. It' always possibly for a higher pick to fall, so watch for that, since i'm not including the LTs et al here. Long term bush, or either of those QBs are worthwhile, though Bush has the most FF upside. |

Re: Fantasy Football Keeper League Question
Easily Boldin. He's young, he's one of the more consistent at WR...a position where there's only a handful of guys you can count on week-to-week. He produces more than Dunn.
Dunn doesn't have much gas left in his tank. For a keeper league, you want to avoid keeping old guys unless they're REALLY elite. |

Re: Fantasy Football Keeper League Question
That Guy,
Basically the steal of the first round is that Larry Johnson will be kept from last year because he was drafted in round 12 last year, but other obvious 1st round picks are back in. I had Shawn Alexander last year, but we all could not keep any of our 1st round picks from last year and he was a 1st rounder. Point system is pretty basic. Not Skewed toward any position over another. |

Re: Fantasy Football Keeper League Question
Would you take Reggie Bush in the first round? It seems a little high for a Rookie that will start out spliting time with McAllister.

I am high on Steven Jackson this year. What do you guys think? I think his upside is huge on a team that should run the ball more than they have in the past. I don't see Faulk taking many carries away from him. He is considered by most a 2nd or 3rd tier RB. |

Re: Fantasy Football Keeper League Question
Dunn has never been a big TD guy. I'd definitely keep Boldin, he'll probably be close to 100 catches again this year. Too bad you don't get any points for receptions.

Re: Fantasy Football Keeper League Question
Look at the Colts, EJ still got his yards there and Harrison and Wayne still got their catches.
Difference is of course Peyton Manning vs. Kurt Warner. I'll give the slight edge to Manning. |

Re: Fantasy Football Keeper League Question
Matty, I guess you are right. On one hand you would think that E.J. would take away production from Fitzgerald and Boldin, but on the other hand it could open things up for them, with a better running game. I guess Boldin and Fitzgerald will still get open and get close to their stats from last year.

Re: Fantasy Football Keeper League Question
if anything, if Edge establishes himself early, that'll open it up more for Boldin and Fitzgerald.
Keep Boldin, and look for Dunn around the 5th round. As far as 1st round...you know who the top producers are, whomever is there, take. I'd probably go more QB than RB (depending on who's available of course), only because you're keeping Portis. Is there the possibility of trading that pick for a 2nd rounder and an additional pick?
